42ND ANNUAL MEMORIAL DAY SERVICE HELD
The 42nd annual Memorial Day program was held Monday at Veterans Park in Homer. In the
summer of 1968, the park was dedicated as Banks County Veterans Memorial Park to honor all
Banks County Veterans, especially the 28 men whose names are inscribed on the plaque. The
park was made possible by donations from the citizens of Banks County and the board of com
missioners - who were the late Lester Kennedy, the late George Crane, and the late Henry James.
Since that time, a Memorial Day service has been held.
