Born in Habersham County on August 24, 1918, she was the daugh ter of the late Amos and Etter Wade Shubert. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Mrs. Robertson was preceded in death by a son, Curtis Shubert Robertson; and brother, William “Bill” Shubert. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. Survivors include a son, Reece Grier, Alto; daughter, Myrette Stringer, Nacogdoches, Texas; and five grand children. Graveside services were held Wednesday, June 11, at the Mt. The Banks County News, June 18, 2008. 'Pat' Barsanti Pasquino John “Pat” Barsanti, 94, of Lula, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, of natural causes at his residence. Born in Calumet, Mich., he was the son of the late Alfredo and Assunta Massei Barsanti. He attend ed St. Michaels' Catholic Church in Gainesville and his employment con sisted of farmer, baker and municipal worker. Mr. Barsanti was preceded in death by his wife, Gina Ann Ghiloni; brothers, Ed and Joe Barsanti; and a sister, Lena Lencioni. He enjoyed gar dening and woodworking, according to loved ones. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Norine and Dwight Worley, Lula; son and daughter-in law, Michael Barsanti and Anne Mapplebeck, Sharon, Vt.; sister, Josephine Ferri, Naperville, Ill.; grand son, Nate Barsanti, Sharon, Vt.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 14, in the chapel of McGahee- Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home. Burial was in Living Mission UMC Cemetery. Virginia Waters Virginia Love Waters, 87, of Maysville, died Saturday, June 14, 2008, at her res idence, following a period of declin ing health. She was born November 5, 1920, in Laurens, S.C., the daughter of the late Earl Luther and Ola Sue Owings Love. She was a retired insurance clerk and a member of Oconee Baptist Church. Mrs. Waters was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Love Jones. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia W. and Bobby J. “Pee-Wee” Garrison, Maysville, Nancy W. and Ron Harrison, Clermont; sister, Mary Love Langston, Tucker; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one niece,. Donald Purcell Donald Sanford Purcell, 70, of Commerce, died Monday, June 16, 2008, at his residence. Born in Banks County, he was the son of the late Albert and Ruby Ensley Purcell. Survivors include his wife, Gloria Seagraves Purcell, Commerce; daugh ter and son-in-law, Donna and Jon Embrick, Commerce; grandchildren, Madison and Matthew Embrick. Airy, died Thursday, June 12, 2008, at a private care facility. She was born on June 17, 1917, in Banks County, the daughter of the late Judge and Addie Keesler Rice. She was a retired seamstress from Cluette Peabody Company, a manufacturer of Arrow shirts. She was a former mem ber of New Hope Baptist Church in the Lakewood Community in Atlanta, and was currently a member of Hazel Creek Baptist. Mrs. Gordon was pre ceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Gordon; a sister, Dede Hanley; and brothers, James, Johnny and Frank Willis Rice. Survivors include a son and daugh ter-in-law, Kenneth E. and Cheryl Gordon, Demorest; sisters and broth- ers-in-law, Carol and Roy Dale, Lula, Avis and Jeff Jefferys, Stockbridge; brother and sister-in-law, Carmon and Nettie Rice, Loganville; grandchildren and spouses, Geri and Craig Kenner, Kevin and Melanie Gordon and Steve and Nicole Gordon; and great-grand children, Katie, Josh, James, Dana, Paul, Chandler, Meagan and Cole. She was born on August 10, 1938, in Newark, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ernest Wayne and Dorothy Lucille Souslan Johnson and was a member of the Clarkesville First Presbyterian Church. She was a home maker and was formerly the manager of the women's department of K-Mart, was also formerly employed with the Helendorf Inn, Morrison's Cafeteria, Piccadilly Cafeteria, Davis Brothers' Cafeteria and S & S Cafeteria. Survivors include her husband, Phillip N. Hull, Baldwin; daughters and sons-in-law, Cherrie Ann and Charles Bergandi, Chippewa Falls, Wisc., Carrie Marie and John Sheehan, Lawrenceville; sister, Ellen Mae Johnson Mann, Ft. Myers, Fla.; grand children, Ryan Porter and Catherine Marie Sheehan. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 19, at 11 a.m., at First Presbyterian Church of Clarkesville with the Rev. Myra McFarlin Myra Elizabeth McFarlin, 85, of Toccoa, died Thursday, June 12, 2008, at the Stephens County Hospital in Toccoa. She was born on December 5, 1922, in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Henry Grady and Beulah Caudell McFarlin. She was a retired teacher, having taught in the Franklin, Jackson and Stephens County school systems and was a member of the Union Ground Christian Church. Mrs. McFarlin was preceded in death by a brother, Woodson L. McFarlin Sr. Survivors include a sister, Agatha Payne, Homer; two nephews; and a niece. She was born on June 23, 1918, the daughter of the late Homer and Eula Mae Brooks Gee. Mrs. White was preceded in death by her husband, John Quinton White; brother and sis ter, Nolan Gee and Grace Truelove. She was a faithful member of The First Baptist Church of Commerce and of the Berean Sunday School Class. She worked at Harmony Grove Mill in Commerce and was an agent for American Family Life Insurance Company. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grand mother and sister. She has touched the hearts of many in her long life and her love and the memories of her will linger in all our hearts forever, loved ones stated. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda White Dickerson and Livingston M. Dickerson Jr., Commerce; grandson and spouse, Phillip K. and Elaine Turner; grand daughters and spouses, Vickie D. and Scott Yaughn, Michele and Joseph Head; great-grandchildren, Etta Yaughn, Zachary Turner, Ashley Turner, Lucas Yaughn and Lily Ruth Head; brothers and sisters, Irene Allison, Bobbie Bryan and H.W.
