Contact Chris Bridges at 706-367-2745 or e-mail him at chris @ mainstreetnews.com Crimes/Court/Wrecks Arrests — Homer man dies as a result of accident Sheriff's office reports 20 arrests T he Banks County Sheriff’s Office reported 20 arrests during the past week including the following: •Robert Kelly Becerra, 23, 3110C Silver Shoals Road, Lula, driving with a suspended license, driving on the wrong side of the road and window, windshield or windshield wiper violation. •Marcus Louis Bowels, Route 1 Box 110A, 255 Blue Road, Shiloh, excessive speeding, driving with a suspended license and improper use of child restraint. •Gregory James Cartledge, 21, 35 Eve Drive, Asheville, N.C., follow ing too closely and possession of marijuana (less than one ounce). •John Fernando Correa, 24, 102 Brandy Wine Drive, Conover, N.C., possession of marijuana (less than one ounce). •Rafael Hernandez Flores, 32, 155 Edwards Road, Clarkesville, exces sive speeding and driving without a license. •Tracy Dwayne Gooch, 39, 4443 Holiday Heights, Oakwood, crimi nal trespassing and disorderly con duct. •Deangelo Antwan Hicks, 21, Marbut Farms Chase, Lithonia, pos session of marijuana (less than one ounce). •Amy Michele Kesler, 31, 2899 Wade Pressley, Toccoa, posses sion of a controlled substance, DUI (drugs) and weaving. •Johnny William Loggins, 39, 3923 Dick Hill Parkway, Mount Airy, open container violation. •German Lopez, 23, 940 27th Street, NE, Trailer 111, Conover, N.C., possession of marijuana (less than one ounce). •Henry Grady Lord, 51, 2310 Broadway Mill Road, Loganville, weaving, DUI (drugs) and posses sion of a controlled substance. •Christopher Thomas Moore, 22, 38 North Main Street, Maysville, simple battery (Family Violence Act), cruelty to children and child neglect. •Conrado Noyola, 24, 601 Creswood Lane, Cornelia, driving without a license, improper use of child restraint and excessive speed ing. •Robert John Packard, 37, 1070 Old Hoods Mill Road, Commerce, DUI (alcohol) and driving too fast for conditions. •Debra Lynn Rider, 46, 56 Tanners Bridge Road. Bethlehem, probation violation. •Nicholas Leroy Sans, 27, 146 Sycamore Street, Homer, failure to report accident with injury and weaving. •Dusty Lee Scott, 22, 223 Northwood Circle, Colbet, seatbelt violation and driving with a sus pended license. •Brent Lacey Stover, 29, 755 Otis Brown Road, Baldwin, probation violation. •Nathan Alan Williams, 28, 251 New House Road, Canon, driving with a suspended license. •Mark Bruce Wilmot, 49, Route 3 Box 116, Martin, no proof of insurance, no tag, concealing iden tification of vehicle and giving false information to a law enforcement officer. Farm equipment in Alto reported stolen A Dalton Circle, Alto, resident reported the theft of farm equipment from his residence on June 23. The incident was one of several the BCSO investigated during the past week. The BCSO also responded to the following incident calls during the past week: •dispute over possession of a vehi cle at a Silver Shoals Road, Homer, resident. •vehicle fire on Crowe Road, Homer. •theft of a vehicle from a Harley Drive address. •theft at a Hwy. 59, Commerce, residence. •suspicious persons at an Oak Drive residence. •lost or stolen wallet at Wal-Mart. •alarm at a Historic Homer Highway residence which proved to be false. •alarm at a Moss Mill Road, Alto, residence which proved to be false. •alarm at a Hwy. 59, Commerce, residence, which was discontinued by the alarm company. •suspicious person on Eisenhower Drive who said he was “walking to Atlanta.” •alarm at a Chambers Road resi dence which proved to be false. •alarm at a Steven B. BY CHRIS BRIDGES A Homer man died as a result of injuries sustained in a one-vehicle accident Friday night on Caudell Road. Banks County sheriff Charles Chapman confirmed Christopher Brian Wylie, 32, of Homer died after being transported to Banks Jackson Commerce Medical Center by county EMS officials. Wylie’s 1977 Chevrolet pickup was traveling east on Caudell Road when he apparently lost control while negotiating a curve and the truck began to skid. Wylie overcorrected and then went across the north shoulder and struck a tree. Banks County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene although the Georgia State Patrol office han dled the investigation. Chapman was attending a candi date forum at the Banks County Parks and Recreation Department when the accident occurred at approximate ly 7:45 p.m. but was notified via cellphone. The official report from the GSP was not available as of Monday. Man who threatens suicide transported to hospital A Duncan Road man threatened to hang himself June 26 but allowed authorities to transport him to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for evaluation instead. Banks County Sheriffs Office officials were contacted when the man walked away from his resi dence with a rope after he left a note saying “goodbye.” The man told responding deputies he had tried to kill himself but that he wanted help. He was then transported to the Hall County hospital by a Banks County deputy without incident. In other domestic-related incidents during the past week, the BCSO responded to: •dispute at a Mountain Creek Drive, Maysville, residence. •verbal dispute at a McDonald Circle residence. •welfare check at a Trout Lane residence. •dispute at an Evans Street, Homer, residence. •welfare check at a Bennett Road, Homer, residence. •dispute at a Crane’s Mobile Home Park, Homer, residence. •threats at a Westbrook Road resi dence. •dispute at a Hwy. 326, Commerce, residence. •dispute at a Bennett Road, Homer, residence. •dispute at a Manor Place, Commerce, residence. •reported child molestation at a Cauthen Lakeside Drive, Alto, resi dence. •dispute at a Russ Rumsey Road, Homer, residence. •phone harassment at a Lord Road, Commerce, residence.
