Survivors include her husband, Robert Rankine Sr„ Maysville; son, Robert Rankine Jr„ Maysville; broth ers, David Stevson, Tustin Ranch, Calif., and Harold Stevson, Greenville, N.C.; sisters, Pamela Barbato, Wappingers Falls, N.Y., and Jacqueline Tauriello, McKees Rock, Pa.; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 2, in the cha pel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Rev. Gregory Huggins Sr. officiating. Burial was in Grey Hill Cemetery. Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Lee Earnest “Pete” and Floella Gee Self. She was a home maker and was Baptist. Mrs. Aaron was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Boone; second husband, Skeets Aaron; and a son, Bobby Veal. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Harold Beck, Pendergrass, Debbie and Larry Wilson and Lynn and Jimmy McCollugh, all of Jefferson, Dianna and Wayne Painter, Dahlonega, Patsy Ferguson, Braselton, and Skeeter Byrd, Monroe; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Cindy Boone, Jefferson, Wayne and Flora Aaron, Winterville, and Danny and Vickie Boone, Commerce; a brother and sister-in-law, the Rev. Robin Self and Ruth Self, Winder; special friend, Joyce and Randy Jones, Jefferson; 26 grandchildren; 28 great-grand children; and one great-great- grandchild. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 2, in the cha pel of Evans Funeral Home with the Revs. Bo Robinson and Robin Self officiating. Burial was in the White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery. She was born in Banks County, the daughter of the late Dillard and Agnes Ray Wilson and was retired from First Commerce Bank, Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Judy Wilson, Commerce; sister and brother-in- law, Annie Bob and Gene McDuffie, Commerce; niec es and nephews, Tim and Tammy Wilson, Todd Wilson, Tommy and Stacey Wilson, Greg McDuffie and Agnes McDuffie. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 1, at Webbs Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Henry Webb and Bill Ford officiating. Burial was in Webbs Creek Baptist Church cemetery. She was a loving wife and mother and will be missed by all who knew her, loved ones stated. Survivors include her husband, Robert Welty, Commerce; a son, Nicholas Welty, Athens; and daughter, Tanya Christian, Commerce. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 5, at 2 p.m., at the Antioch United Methodist Church in Nicholson. All friends and family are welcome. 'Tom' Owensby James Thomas “Tom” Owensby Sr„ 76, died Saturday, June 28, 2008, at BJC Hospital in Commerce. Born in Hart County, he was the son of the late Allen and Mattie Sims Owensby. Mr. Owensby was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth McElreath Owensby; sons and daughters- in-law, Tommy and Betty Lane Owensby, Bobby and Anne Owensby, all of Nicholson, Billy and Deborah Owensby, Colbert; brother, Bernice Owensby, Commerce; sister, Kate Lacey, Commerce; four grandchildren; and seven great-grand children. Funeral ser vices were held Monday, June 30, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Revs. Henry Webb and David Harbin officiating. Burial was in Grey Hill Cemetery. Dr. Joseph Minish Dr. Joseph Albert Minish, 84, of Commerce, died Saturday, June 28, 2008, at his resi dence. Born in Madison County on Christmas day, he was the son of the late Walter and Florence Hix Minish. He prac ticed dentistry in Commerce for 32 years and served as mayor of Commerce for over a decade. Following retirement from his dental practice, he established and managed Jackson County Realty for nearly 30 years. A pillar in the Commerce community, Dr. Minish was a Mason, a Shriner, and served on the Regions Bank Board of Directors. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during World War II, and in the Georgia State Senate. He was a lifetime member of Erastus Christian Church in Madison County, serving as a deacon, elder, Sunday school teacher, and board member. He received a 16 year per fect attendance pin the last Sunday he attended church. Ola Mae Gunn Ola Mae Gunn, 80, of Demorest, died Saturday, June 28, 2008, at a private care facility. She was born on March 25, 1928, in Habersham County, the daughter of the late Dewey and Flora Mae Gunn Gibson. She was a homemak er, a foster parent, was of the Congregational Holiness faith and a former Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Gunn was preceded in death by a son, William Gunn; brother, James Gibson; and granddaughter, Lynn Gunn Cooper. Survivors include her hus band, Roy Gunn, Demorest; daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and Tommie Lewallen, Demorest; sons and daugh- ters-in-law, Johnny and Pauline Gunn and Harold and Dianne Gunn, all of Demorest; nine grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, June 30, at Whitfield Funeral Home with the Revs. Ronald Wilson and Tony Royston officiating. James Lunsford James Thomas Lunsford, 65, of Cleveland, died Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, following an extended illness. Born in Crestview, Fla., he was the son of the late Wilbur and Annie Inez Braxton Lunsford. He was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints, and was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Donald Lunsford. Survivors include his wife, Janice Hurley Lunsford, Lula; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry Lynn and C.J. Couch and Sonja Lane McGuire,, all of Cleveland, Susan Lee and Jeff Meaders, Six Mile, S.C.; grandchildren, Jake Trigg, Katie Garland, Trey Couch, Libby Couch, Annie Mae, Ben and Cara Ann McGuire, Gregory Wayne and Kalyn Ann Meaders; great-grandchil dren, Sydney Abigale Garland and Devon Gage Trigg; sister and brother-in-law, Marsha and Dale Murphy; nephews, Everett and Joey Murphy, all of Pace, Fla.; first wife, Lynda Lunsford, Cleveland; and a host of other family, friends and relatives. Memorial services were held Friday, June 27, in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Revs. Mike Rysman officiating. Christopher Wylie Christopher Brian Wylie, 32, of Homer, died Friday, June 27, 2008, following injuries sustained in an accident while driving his pick-up truck. He was born in Gwinnett County on November 27, 1975, the son of Lynn Wylie. He was preced ed in death by his dad, Gary Wylie; and grandfather, Ben Wylie. He will be remembered as a devoted and loving son, father, husband and friend, loved ones stat ed. He was currently work ing as “Head Electrician” by Country Boy Satellites of Homer, was a Nascar racing and automobile fanatic, and enjoyed fishing and camping trips and evening gatherings with family and friends. He was well known for his Texas Pete Chicken Wings and other cooking creations. Survivors in addition to his mother, include a daughter, Rebecca Wylie; former wife, Susan Wylie, Homer; father, Kenneth Larry, Sugar Hill; paternal grandmother, Louise Jones, Sugar Hill; maternal grandmother, Willie Bratcher, Lawrenceville; one half-broth er; two stepbrothers; one step sister; three uncles; and many other relatives and friends. Memorial services were held Wednesday, July 2, at Damascus Baptist Church in Homer with the Rev. Gene Todd officiating. Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.
