Nails Creek to host benefit soon Nails Creek Baptist Church, Banks County, will host a ben efit chicken-que and singing Friday, July 25. The benefit is being held to help with the medical expenses of Vietnam veteran Ron Baker, who is battling cancer. The chicken-que will be from 3 to 7 p.m. with tickets costing $6 each. Tickets may be purchased at Lewallen’s grocery, located at the crossroads of Hwy. 63 and 198. Special service to be held in July Webbs Creek Baptist Church, Banks County, will host a special service Sunday through Wednesday, July 20-23. The hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. The event is titled the “Season of Refreshing.” The guest speaker will be the Rev. Jim Ray, Mississippi. Lynn Ford Gibson was appointed to her second year at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church at the annual conference of the North Georgia United Methodist Church held recently in Athens. The church honored her with a fellow ship luncheon on Sunday, July 13, in the Lydia Sailers fellowship hall. Church leaders stated, “It has been a very blessed year under her leader ship and we welcome her back.” The church is located at 295 Mt. Bethel Road off Hwy. 59 in Banks County. Calvary's Cross to bold services Calvary’s Cross Ministry will hold worship services every Sunday starting at 10:45 a.m. Services will be held at the Dandelion Inn, Commerce, in the conference room.
