Baker, 60, of 3400 Hwy, 63, Carnesville, died Friday, August 1, 2008, at St, Mary’s Hospice House, Born in Atlanta, he was the son of the late Carey D, and Dorothy Byrd Baker and was married to Beverly Lewallen Baker. Ron was a veter an of the United States Marine Corps., having served in Vietnam, He received four Purple Heart med als, the Medal of Combat V, and the Bronze Star. Survivors along with his wife, include daughters, Alisha and Shane Roberts and Kayla Segars, all of Carnesville, brother, Don Baker, Five Points, Ala,; sisters, Kathy Brannon and Debbie Warburton, both of Lawrenceville, and Sheree Mayo, Gainesville; grand children, Morgan Roberts, Maribeth Roberts and Matthew Roberts; an aunt, Blanche Hodges, Dothan, Ala,; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Sunday, August 3, at Nails Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Dwayne Eller officiating, Burial was in the church cemetery. Robby Hunnicutt Robby Lee Hunnicutt, 25, of Baldwin, died Sunday, August 17, 2008, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle acci dent. Born in Stephens County on January 28, 1983, he was the son of Terry Hunnicutt of Baldwin and mother and step-father, Debbie Tench and Chad Wade, of Cornelia. He attended Harvest Christian Church and was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle, He enjoyed living life to the fullest. Mr. Hunnicutt was preceded in death by grandfathers, Wayne Eugene Tench and Robert Hunnicutt. Survivors in addition to his parents, include a brother, Neil Hunnicutt, Baldwin; step-brother, Zack Wade, Cornelia; grandmothers, Mary Lou Tench, Demorest, and Corrine Hunnicutt, Hollywood. Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 20, in the cha pel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Pastors Rick Cox and Luther Williams officiating, Burial was in Demorest City Cemetery. Joyce Barrett Joyce Chambers Barrett, 62, of Lula, died Saturday, August 16, 2008, at Peachtree Christian Hospice, Born in Hall County, she was the daughter of the late Rex and Mamie Lawson Chambers. She lived all of her life in Hall County and was a member of Lanier Hills Baptist Church. Survivors include daughters, Donna Barrett, Atlanta, Tammy Barrett, Gainesville; a son, Chuck Barrett, Gainesville; sister, Barbara Smith, Gainesville; brother, Bill Chambers, Hiram; and grandchildren, Cole Barrett-Williams, Charlie Barrett and Chloe Barrett. Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Evans; and brother, Stanley Hollis. She was a homemaker and was Holiness, Mrs. Turner enjoyed spending time with her family, music and traveling. Survivors in addition to her moth er, include a daughter and son-in- law, Carla and Shane Ayers, Alto; a special friend, Johnny Brock, Alto; sister, Benny Mae Abernathy, Alto; grandchildren, Benjamin and Brady Ayers; nephews, David, Dale and Wayne Abernathy; and a niece, Becky Skelton.
