Our headquarters for our long weekend was Comfort Inn, located at 2 Tanglewood Drive. The hotel offers a full free breakfast each day, with waffles, cereal, pastries, toast, bagels, boiled eggs and other items offered. The hotel is located on six acres of wooded land sur rounded by three lagoons. Huge turtles make these lagoons home and you will spot them throughout your stay. Signs at the lagoon caution you not to feed alli gators but we didn’t see any during our stay. Comfort Inn is located a short walk to Coligny Square, a popular spot for families, visitors and locals. Restaurants, shops and beach access can all be found here. Beach umbrellas and chairs are offered for rent. We tried several restau rants and found one that we enjoyed so much that we had dinner there two nights. The Wreck is located at Sea Pines near the popular Salty Dog Cafe. We found the same menu and view as Salty Dog Cafe but no wait to dine. The oysters and shrimp were wonderful, and the kids menu was a favorite with the younger ones in our group. Another night we tried Red Fish, which offers fine dining in elegant surround ings. The tuna and Kobe beef burgers were both a delight.
