Home under construction burglarized in Baldwin
Drug arrests reported
A home under construction on
Old Highway 441 in Baldwin
was burglarized during the past
week.
The victim said someone
kicked in the basement door
damaging the door, door jam and
sheetrock and entered the house
he was building. The damage
was estimated at $1,000.
A weather radio valued at
$100 was reportedly taken.
The victim stated the door was
locked and deadbolted.
The scene was turned over to
Banks County investigators.
A vehicle was reportedly seen
at the location prior to the report
ed burglary.

Several drug arrests were made
last week by the Banks County
Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Charles Chapman said
on Tuesday, Oct. 28, a search war
rant was executed at a Maysville
residence after BCSO narcotics
investigators made controlled
buys of narcotics from the resi
dence.
The search warrant resulted in
the seizure of several pills and the
arrests of: Judy Vemice Smith,
48, Hogan Street Maysville, two
counts of illegal possession of a
controlled substance; Crissy Ni
cole Patrick, 24, Hogan Street,
Maysville, illegal possession
of a controlled substance; Jer
emy Adam Whitfield, 22, Hogan
Street, Maysville, illegal posses
sion of a controlled substance;
and Karen Frances Whitfield, 45,
Hogan Street, Maysville, illegal
possession of a controlled sub
stance.
All four were booked into the
Banks County jail, Chapman
said.
Also on Tuesday, the BCSO
served a probation warrant on a
previous drug charge from anoth
er county on a person at an Alto
address. The deputies made con
tact with William Willard Purdy,
48, Garland White Road, who
was also charged with possession
of methamphetamine and posses
sion of a firearm by a convicted
felon.
During the arrest, several fire
arms were seized from the prop
erty.
Chapman said Purdy is bein
held without bond in the Bank
County jail and also faces charge
in another county.
On Wednesday, Oct. 29, th
BCSO executed a search warrar
at a Commerce address after nai
cotics investigators had made tw
controlled buys of methamphel
amine from the residence.
At the time of the execution c
the search warrant, an arrest wat
rant had been obtained for Aaro
William Carroll, 25, Lake Forres
Drive, Commerce, for two count
of sale of methamphetamine
possession of methamphetamin
with the intent to distribute an
