Bettye Poole O’Kelley, 70,
of Commerce, died Sunday,
November 2, 2008, at her
residence.
She was born in Irwin
County, the
daughter
of the late
Ernest Paul

Owens.
Survivors
include her husband, Henry
O’Kelley, Commerce; a
daughter, Michelle Ledford,
Commerce; sons, Ricky
Johnson, Carnesville, and
Darrin Poole, Commerce;
brothers, Herman, Troy and
Morris Owens, Ocilla, and
Albeit Owens, Mystic; sis
ters, Mildred Goodman and
Laye Bushin, both of Ocilla,
Nina Whitley, Litzgerald,
Camilla Owens, Mystic, and
Debbie Gurr, Douglas; 11
grandchildren; and 12 great
grandchildren.
Luneral services were held
Wednesday, November 5, in
the chapel of Ivie Luneral
Home with Pastor Howard
Conine and Associate Pastor
Beth Stephens of the New
Covenant Worship Center
in Athens officiating. Burial
was in Jackson Memorial
Park.

Commerce, was in charge
of arrangements.

Troy Maney
Troy Maney Jr., 59, of
Dawsonville, died Saturday,
November 1, 2008, at his
residence.
Born in Hayesville, N.C.,
he was the son of the late
Troy and Meadean Maney.
Mr. Maney was the father
of Lome Maney, Baldwin;
and the grandfather of Blake
Ayers, Lula, and Brandy
Ayers, Baldwin.
The body was cremated.

Burtchaell
Gerald Daly Burtchaell
Sr., 66, of Maysville, died
early Lriday morning at
Lanier Park Hospital in
Gainesville.
Born in Pulton County,
he was the son of the late
William Daly and Willena
Whatley Burtchaell. He
was a veteran,
having served
in the United
States Navy.
Survivors include sons,
Gerald Daly Burtchaell Jr.,
Maysville, Chad Burtchaell,
Venus, Pla., Robert
Burtchaell, Riverdale;
daughters, Sheryl Burtchaell,
Gillsville, Leah Jo Turk,
Braselton, Kaya Jane Harris,
Maysville; brother, Bill
Burtchaell, St. Petersburg,
Pla.; sister, Barbara Trotter,
Jonesboro; and four grand
children.

Betty Ellington
Betty Cleo Grant Ellington,
92, formerly of Clarkston,
died Saturday, November
1, 2008, at Sacred Journey
Hospice in McDonough,
following a brief illness.
She was born in Alto
on January 24, 1916, the
daughter of the late James
A. and Violet E. Grant. She
was a graduate of Piedmont
College and taught school for
over 40 years in the DeKalb
County School System.
She was an active mem
ber and pianist at Clarkston
International Bible Church,
formerly Clarkston Baptist
Church. She was a Golden
Sister member of Alpha
Delta Kappa Sorority for
51 years. Mrs. Ellington
was preceded in death
by her husband, Jesse W.
Ellington; and a son, Dr.
Patrick Ellington.
Survivors include a daugh-
ter-in-law, Karen Ellington,
Pt. Myers, Pla.; sister, Ruth
Webster, Cornelia; neph
ews, Jim Brewer, Statham,
and Vance Grant, Jackson,
Tenn.; and many other rela
tives and friends.
Graveside services were
held Tuesday, November 3,
at Level Grove Cemetery.

Ga. 30021.

94, of Bethlehem, died

he was the son of the late
Olin and Leola Williams
McCullers.

Jack Theo Brock, 66, of
Mt. Airy, died Monday,
November 3, 2008, at

Center, follow

ed illness.

25, 1941, he was the son
of the late Joe and Minnie
Broome Brock. He worked
for LP Gas as a security
guard and was Baptist. He
was a veteran, having served

of Tony Allen of Lula.

ness.
Bom in Hall County, he

Dunagan.
Mr. Dunagan was the
brother-in-law of Gerald
Crumley of Lula.

Kenneth Harland Tatum,
51, of Demorest, died
Monday, October 27, 2008,
at Crawford Long Hospital,
following a brief illness.
Born in Habersham
County on August 21, 1957,
he was the son of Annie Lou
Kinsey Tatum of Demorest
and the late Arvil Tatum Jr.
Mr. Tatum was the brother
of Ronnie and Renee Tatum
of Lula.

and Stewart Luneral Home.

Otis Fredrick Ward, 79,
of Mt. Airy, died Monday,
November 3, 2008.
Born in Banks County,
he was the son of the late
Glenn and Lonnie Gowder
Ward. He was
a member
of Welcome
Home Baptist
Church, where he was a
deacon and a Sunday School
teacher. He was a veteran,
having served in the United
States Marine Corps dur
ing World War II. He was
a retired electrical right-a-
way contractor. Mr. Ward
was preceded in death by
brothers, Roy Ward, George
Ward, Albert Ward and
Glenn Ward Jr.; and sisters,
Mary Lou Landford and
Mildred Hilsman.
Survivors include a sis
ter, Elizabeth Turner, Lula;
brothers, Ernest Ward,
Madison, and Rufus Ward,
Eatonton; sisters-in-law,
Carol Ward, Florine Ward,
Margie Ward and Mary
Ward, all of Madison; and
numerous nieces and neph
ews.
Funeral services were held
Wednesday, November 5,
at Welcome Home Baptist
Church with the Rev. Larry
Ryals officiating. Burial was
in the church cemetery.
