program
recognized
The Georgia Department
of Education recently hon
ored all four of the Banks
County Schools for reach
ing a high level of student
participation in the School
Nutrition Program. The
participation is among the
highest in the nation.
Schools that earned this
distinction share two com
mon characteristics: 1) ad
ministrators, faculty, and
staff support and participate
in the program and rate the
program as enhancing the
learning process and 2) the
schools offer a wide vari
ety of menu choices daily,
allowing students a greater
opportunity to select a nu
tritionally complete meal
each day.
“This recognition from the
Georgia Department of Edu
cation is a wonderful way to
acknowledge the hard work
and dedication exhibited
by the cafeteria staff each
and every day,” said Dennis
Marlow, director of school
food nutrition for the Banks
County School System.
