An online permit system is in
place allowing residents to use
a new, faster bum permitting

Those seeking a permit to

communities are safe may visit
www.GaTrees.org.
The new 24-hour bum per

click through a simple online
template that swiftly analyzes
weather conditions, records
user requests, and issues a
numbered permit for use that
day. Permits issued after dark
are valid the following day.
Residents who prefer to

still call 1-877-OK2-BURN (1-

“The new automated system
saves time for our customers
who use the same computer

Permits are required for burn

Failure to get a valid bum

average suppression charge is
$200.
The state’s bum ban will be
in effect in 54 counties, mostly
in North Georgia — including
Barrow, Banks, Jackson and
Madison counties beginning
May 1.
