Officers scuffle with man at fire
The Banks County Sheriff’s
Office has taken a warrant for the
arrest of a man who got into a
scuffle with deputies at the scene
of a fire.
The warrant for Roy Lee Green
is for the charge of obstruction of
an officer.
Banks County deputies respond
ed to Shady Grove Road in refer
ence to a house fire where Banks
County Fire Department requested
assistance. When deputies arrived
around 8:33 p.m. Tuesday, they
were met by the homeowner who
stated that he had left earlier in the
evening and returned to find the
residence aflame.
The homeowner also advised
deputies that another man on the
scene, who was a family member
and who was described as intoxi
cated, had been at the home when
the fire started.
Green then began verbally
assaulting officers during their
investigation. As deputies attempt
ed to arrest Green, he began to
resist and scuffle with deputies.
Deputies then used a Taser, which
showed no effect. As deputies
stmggled to gain control of Green,
he resisted and failed to comply
with commands given by officers.
Finally, deputies and EMS per
sonnel were able to control the
subject enough to place handcuffs
on Green.
Green then began to show pos
sible signs of smoke inhalation at
which time Banks County EMS
transported him to NEGA Medical
Center where he was held for eval
uation.

Rare Occurance-Nanny has quadruplets
Journey Boswell, Maysville, has been raising goats most of his life. He’s seen a
nanny have one, two or even three babies. He’s never experienced a nanny goat
having four babies or heard of it until recently. Pictured above is the new mom with
her quadruplets, three girls and one baby boy. The new additions bring Boswell’s
herd to more than 40 goats.
