Church N e ws
Begin each day with
a grateful heart
was
our last day on
earth? At times
I take my days for
granted, but I’m get
ting a little better
at living for today.
There was a time I
wished for evening
when it was morn
ing and I wished for
Friday when it was
Monday. These days
I am looking at the blessings
of the present. I would like
to challenge you to do that
as well. I’ve realized there
are some wonderful things
that happen on Monday and
every other day of the week.
No matter what the hour, the
day, the month, or the year,
each of these are a gift from
God. So how do we make
the most of our days. After
all, it is completely up to us.
Each of us can control
our attitudes. For instance,
we can get up and say, “This
is the day that the Lord has
made. Let us rejoice and be
glad in it.” We can begin the
day with a grateful heart.
Thank you Lord for protect
ing us through the night. We
are blessed to go to bed at
night and rest in the peace
of God. I’ll admit there are
days when I’d rather stay
home than go to work; those
are the days I pray that we
are exceedingly blessed
because of our obedience.
“Lord help me to honor you
in my work today.” May we
look to the Lord and ask
him to guide us throughout
the day and use our vessels
for his glory. My prayer is
that each of us will have an
attitude that will glorify God
in all we do.
Our words have such an
impact on our effort and
actions. It’s important to
speak life into our situations.
The power of life and death
is in the tongue. I ask God to
give us the strength to speak
life into seemingly
dead situations.
God always amaz
es me! So many
times I think there
is no way this will
work out, and God
works it out per
fectly in his tim
ing!! Why don’t
we begin to praise
him for the things
we’ve yet to see?
Let us speak life into every
situation in which we need
a move of God. There is one
thing I’ve learned; we can
trust God to work on our
behalf.
We should also control
our words and be kind to
people. My mom always
taught me if I didn’t have any
thing nice to say, don’t say
anything at all. There were
times when I wanted the last
word, but experience has
taught me to be careful with
my speech. Words can’t be
taken back and words hurt.
Many times I’ve had to ask
forgiveness to a person and
to God Almighty. May we be
slow to speak and slow to
anger. Just treat everyone
with respect because we
have no idea what burdens
people are carrying. The
Lord may have put them in
our path so we can show
the love of Jesus to a person
who is hurting.
The kind of day we have
today is totally up to us. I
admit everything may not
go our way, but let us focus
on the good things in our
lives. Let us live each day
like it was our last day. My
prayer is that we will wake
up with a godly attitude,
speak life into our situa
tions, and be kind to every
one God puts in our path.
