A Fall Festival will be
held at the Banks Coun
ty Recreation Department
from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on
Saturday. Oct. 29.
This event will have ven
dors, food, activities, music,
and a movie showing, a pie
tasting, and a Halloween
costume contest.
There are 20 vendor spots
available for $25 each.

A Christmas Festival will
be held in downtown Ho
mer from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
on Saturday, Dec. 3. The
theme will be “Homer-ville
Whoville Christmas Festi
val.”

hear rezoning
request for
industrial use
The Banks County Plan
ning Commission will hear
a request on Nov. 15 for a
rezoning for industrial use.
The meeting will be held
at 6:30 p.m. in the Court
house Annex building, lo
cated at 150 Hudson Ridge,
Homer.
Seabrook BLC Devel

Law Group, Apharetta, is
requesting to rezone 173
acres from ARR (Agricul
ture Rural Residential) and
C2 (General Commercial)
to Ml (Industrial District).
Plans are for light manu
facturing/assembly use on
the property.
The Banks County Board
of Commissioners will hold
a public hearing regarding
the application on Tuesday,
November 22. at 6:30 p.m.

early voting in Banks Coun
ty. 1,335 voters cast a ballot.
Early voting for the Nov.
8 General Election/Special
Election will begin be held
through Nov. 4.
Voting will be held only
on Mondays through Fri
days, with the exception of
Oct. 22 and Oct. 29 when
Saturday voting will be
held.
The hours for voting will
be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All ear
ly voting will be held at the
Election Office, located at
226 Candler Street in Ho
mer.
On Election Day, Nov. 8,
all voting will be handled
at the Banks County Recre
ation Department, located at
607 Thompson Street. Ho
mer.

Fifth annual fall festival held in Baldwin

The City of Baldwin hosted its 5th annual fall festival
on Saturday, Oct. 22. The festival opened with a Runway
5K race and featured 37 venders selling its arts and crafts.
There was free games and activities, a Currahee fall crawl
Jeep ride, pictures with heroes in force, a wiffle ball tour
nament sponsored by the Baldwin Fire Department, live
music, face painting, a chili cookoff judged by the Baldwin
Fire Department and hosted by Santa Claus, and free S'mo-
res to enjoy while watching a movie in the park. The movie
“It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” was shown. The
festival closed with a fireworks finale. It was estimated that
800 visitors attended the event.
