The Supreme Court decision has re
turned the judgmont below iu tho oaho of
tho North St South Hoad vb. Robert M.
Wiufroo, a case carried up by tho Com

settles the quostiou as to payments of
subscriptions to railroads, and puts a stop
to roHiutunoo whou tho subscriber's en
thusiasm dies out, ntui when the enter-
priso needs tho promised assistance most.
The non-payment of subscriptions on tho
plea of the stopping of work (often caused
by defaulting subscribers), or tho scaling
of same under any ruling as to tho meas

H *rved (pilotus, and all parties having
promised a railroad help had as well walk
up and settle. Tho case is ono of gunorul
interest throughout the State.
