FAVOR IT.
Sin (ial t.i lhe Tim ks, by S. xA. Line.]
Ban Diego, Cal., February 11. The
| feeling iu California is growing very
strong in favor of tin* Texas Pacific
Railroad. Tin* pro - in all parts of
the .State favor Scott's bill for the
completion of the Southern overland
railroad. The Sun ITaneiscn HuUrtin
. : \Ye are being devoured, calmly,
leisurely and systematically, by a
great, national enterprise which has
become a very close private corpora
tion. Therein no probable relief in
competition. This is the view of the
wise taken by ail who are large-mind
ed enough to take in the whole coun
try. If there is any ground upon
which tin* Southern Continental bill
stands, it is that of competition. If
the bill be properly guarded, Colonel
Tom Scott, would not in reality be the
recipient of one dollar of the public j
money.
The builii f ! niuu condemns the ac-]
t ion of the Los Angelos Chamber of!
Commerce, in telegraphing to Wash
ington resolut ion favoring tin* Gen
traJ 'Pacific Railroad proposition for
extending the Southern Pacific Rail
road, in competition with the Texas ;
Pacific Railroad scheme. It, says tin*
Chamber of Commerce appears to:
have been captured by the railroad
monopoly; but it is satisfactory to;
know that only ten persons wen*
present at its meeting, of whom three
opposed the action taken. The reso
lution docs not represent the public
"tiiirnenl of Los Angelos. Tlm* Tninn
adds, that at the recent meeting of:
ihe San Francisco Chamber of Com
merce there were only twenty-five
member* present, of whom only about
one-half voted in favor of lie- resolu
tions endorsing the Southern Pacific*
Railroad scheme. These pretended
expressions of public sentiment are
very thin, and may be appropriately j
classed with the recent fraud signed j
Grangers’ dispatch. The monopoly
has become dosperab* which resorts j
to such expedients. The activity of
the agent shows how very real they j
regard the danger of competition.
If there is a single proposition that
would sweep tho States from Ore
gon’s border to the Colorado riv
er by an almost unanimous popular
vote, it. is one favoring Government,
assistance for Scott’s Texas Pacific :
Railroad as an independent competi
tive road. That is the way the people
feel, no matter what a dozen men in
San Francisco or Los Angelos may
sa\ over the seat, of the Chamber of
Commerce, at the dictation of Leaud
Stanford, or what a hired organ may
affirm or deny.

Jordan's Joyous Julep.
A Specific for Neuralgia.
V HAVE been saying a good deni through the
1 papers of late extolling JORDAN'S JOYOUS
JULEP as a most wonderful NEURALGIA CURE;
blit, for fear you may exclaim as Shakspeare
when ht) said “You cram those word* into mine
ear againat the Htomach of my nouno,” I now sub
mit to you what persons say who have tried my
Neuralgia Julep, with tho moat complete and
satlsiketory result:
Oor.rMUUH, January iff, 1875.
Mr.Jortlan: —l take great pleasure iu recom
mending your Joyous Julep for neuralgia, It.
lias produced u most wonderful relief in one of
tho novercHt uttucks of neuralgia my daughter
ever lias had. Hhe has been treated for It by
three skillful physicians, with very little benefit,
and used all the usual remedies with little suc
cess. I can with much confidence hope for a per
manent cure. It is only two days sinco we began
the use of it, and it in apparently of permanent
benefit. Yours, with respect,
MRS. L. I. NORMAN.
I'i.t'krnupru, Va., Jan. 15. 1875.
Jn. /.. Jof’lan, £nq., Columbus, On.:
Dear Sir -Having learned through my friend
R. A. Bacon of your “J. J. J." preparation for re
lief of neuralgia, and tested it with perfect suc
cess in my own family, in tho worst ease, too,
that ever came under my observation, I new
enclose fifty cent* for a second bottle, as l con
sider it too valuable a medicine to bo without,
though I have no immediate use for it.
Very truly yours,
JAMES T. TOSH.
Uolumuuh, oa., Nov. g, 1874.
Ur. J. L. Jor<tn; Dear Sir—Your Joyous Julep
for Neuralgia has been tried iu my family, and
with the moat happy result, aud 1 find jyn it all you
claim for its virtue. And I unhesitatingly re
commend it to all who are suffering from Neural
gia oh something a little remarkable in its cura
tive power. J. D. WORTHY.
COLUMBUS, Oa., Dec. 18. 1874.
Ih. .7. J.. Jordan —Your medicine, Joyobs
Julep, is without au equal for Neuralgia. Having
been a great sufferer from the pain, and having
tried tli*! prescriptions ol many physicians, yet
all proved of no effect until I tried four dqses
of your Julep, when I was immediately relieved,
and have not been troubled since.
K. C. MADDOX.
Lake City, Fla., Nov. 4, 1874.
Ur. J. L. Jordan—-Please send me another bot
tle of your Joyous Julep for a frieud. I have
never found anything equal to it for Neuralgia.
Two doaCB cured me almost iustautly, and lean
safely recommend it to do what you say.
Very respectfully. Ac.,
JOHN M. JEFFKYH.
Fkhnandlna, Fla., April. 1871.
l)r. J. L. Jouloii, Columbus, (Ja.:
Dear Dir —lt affords me pleasure to add my tes
timony to the efficacy of your “Jordan’s Joyous
Julep,” iu giving instant relief in Neuralgia; and
to ail appearance, an effective as instautaueous.
I was effected daily with Neuralgia, and since
taking a few teospoonfUla of your relief, two or
more weeks have elapsed, and there are no indi
cations of return. I hope that the human fam
ily will raeeive u benefit commensurate with the
importance of your discovery, und that your
pecuniary reward will be equal to its well de
served merits. Yours, respectfully.
MRS. L. DOZIER
