The Cemetery.
The cemotery presents a beautiful ap
pearance now. The flowers put ou the
graves still lixik bright and frosli. The
grounds have recently undergone a thor
ough renovation, and wo have one of the
neatest, best kept cemeteries to be found
anywhere. Our citizens ought to fool no
little pride in the proper care of such a
place. It should always receive the clos
est attention and every attraction possi

ornaments a city, nothing gives better
evidence of refinement anil public spirit,
than a handsome cemetery. Ours Is neat
and attractive now, and we hope, in the
course of time, to see it made beautiful

of tho hall is a beautiful floral bower—a
perfect masterpiece of mimic architecture,
and pretty enough for tho palace of a fairy
king. In every nook and corner of tho
room something beautiful or attractive Is
to Ixi found.
Tho llsh pouil is constructed with a re
markable fidelity to Nature, representing
water, rocks, moss, fishes, snakes, Ao.,
with a pleasant effect. The lemonade well

Tho various tables are full of pretty fancy
articles and refreshments of various kinds,

On Monday, after tho decoration ser
vices were over, f embracod the opportu
nity to take a walk through the cemetery |
and read the epitaphs, many of them of a
very sympathetic and solemn character.!
I was reminded of Hcrvey’s Meditations j
among the tombs, and 1 was struck with
the truth of the proverb: “Better to fro to
the house of mourning than the house of
feasting.” How suitable a place for reli
gious meditation! where the young may
resort and read of departed friends, ven
erable fathers and loving mothers, whose
Christian graces are as landmarks to the
lonely traveler. No place is equal to it to
produce conviction and contrition in the
minds of the young. When the heart is
softened by emotional reflections, the
reading of epitaphs of departed friends
has a salutary effect. Were I able to
afford tho expense, with the consent of the
authorities, I would have posts put up at
all the corners along the avenues, with
boards on the tops with suitable selections j
of Scripture from the Psalms and Pro
verbs, the reading of which by young
persons would, at such occasions, leave 1
salutary impressions, which tho Holy j
Spirit would sanctify, if the Young Men’s i
Christian Association would adopt this j
plan and make selections of Scripture and !
place on them, it would, by God’s blessing,
do much good. Please print this in the
Interest of religion. Disciple.
The above was huiuled us by a venerable

Mr. Local: In reply to your inquiry
as to what has become of the Columbus
Debating Society, we have this to say: "It,
is not (load, but sloopoth.”
The cake-cuttings, mite societies, ladies’
suppers, spelling bees, pio-nies, religious
meetings, and numerous similar occur
rences made such drafts upon its members
tho Society was compelled to suspend. As
soon ns those things have passed away,
you may look for n revival of the old Spar
tan spirit. Once again will that sprouting
( band hold forth, and the silent walls will
re-echo with the thunder of its eloquence.

110 You Want Health f
Why Will Ye Die?—Death, or what is
worse, is the inevitable result of continued
, suspension of the menstrual flow. It is a
condition which should not be trifled with.
Immediate relief is the only safeguard
against constitutional ruin. In all cases
: of suppression, suspension or other irreg
ularity of the “courses,” Dr. J. Dradfleld s
Female Regulator is the only sure reme
dy. It acts by giving tone to the nervous
centres, improving the blood, and determ
' itiing directly to the organs of menstrua
tion. It is a legitimate prescription, and
the most intelligent, doctors use it. Pre

Bratlflelii J* (~ Atlanta, Ga. -DearSirs:
I take pleasure in stating tlutL I have used
j for the last twent y years the medicine you
i are putting up, known as Dr. HradfutUV*
j Female Regulator, and consider it the
best combination ever gotten together for
i the diseases for which it is recommended.
? I have been familiar with the preparation
both as a practitioner of medicine and in
: domestic practice, and can honestly say
that I consider it a boon to suffering le
| males, andean but hope that every lady
. in our land, who may be suffering in any
I way peculiar to their sox, may Ui able to
! procure a bottle, and their sufferings may
; not only be rfliev**d, but that they may !*•
’ r-*stor*sl to health and strength.
With my kin*lest regards,
