Tho ladles are certainly making a com plete success of their festival. Public pat ronage seems to be liberally bestowed, and It Is given to a most worthy objoct. The receipts of the first night arc said to have amounted to about $300; over fifty dollars was taken in by one table. Yester day a largo number of ladles and gentle men went up to tho noon lunch, and the receipts then must hsvebeen considerable. Last night tho attendance was large. The room was full and everybody seemed to bo delighted. The hall was just as pretty as ever and was the admiration of all, It ! is generally conceded that there was never 1 a more tasty or more beautiful arrange ment seen In this city. It is well worth a visit to the festival just to see the room. All the tables seemed to bo well patronized last night. Tho sale of fancy articles was large. Bomc of these arc beautiful, and display the most exquisite design as well as tho flhCHt cxocullon. Prices are re markably low for a church festival. Wc saw a warm-hearted old bachelor, last evening, who bought everything that was offered Pa him. When lie loft he had his pockets full. Several dolls were plainly visible, and he made a desperate effort to conceal a peculiar looking garment with a quantity of embroidery on it. Button-hole bouquets sold well, and almost every beau in the room had a little bunch of “floral Inspiration” stuck on his lapiK'l. Man is mortal and he will eat. The refreshment table was very interest- ‘ ing, and was constantly surrounded by j a host of friends. The fish-pond was In good condition, and the post-office chock full of mail.
