Tho effects of tho heavy hall of Monday
night were visible on all sides yesterday.
Tho trees suffered considerably and in
many localities the ground was covered
with fallon leaves and broken twigs. Veg
etable gardens were badly damaged.
Flowor gardens <lkt not escape, and there
were many fair faces made sad by the rev
elations of tho llrst glance at these lovely
pets yesterday morning. Many hot
houses In the city were badly damaged.
In some every pane of gloss was broken
out. So far as we have heard not a single
hot house or flower pit escaped unhurt.
The damage to geraniums and other valu
able flowers must have been very general.
Sky lights were broken badly. Some of
the goods in tho store of H. T. Crigler and
J. B. Johnston were damaged by falling
hail. I)r. Hood’s sky light was broken
out and a quantity of hail fell inside. In
fact, nearly every sky light on Broad
street was broken.
We have not hoard of much damage
done in tho country. Perhaps the storm
was confined to the immediate vicinity of
the city. The air was delightfully cool
and pleasant all day yesterday, and if we
could only have hail without its attendant
evils, wo would not care how often it came
during tho hot summer months.
Some wonderful tales are told of the
size of the stones which fell on Monday
night. An old darkey asserted yesterday
upon his honor as a Christian gentleman,
that ho picked up one solid stone as big as
his list. Stones touch larger than a part
ridge egg were found in many places.
When the falling stones would congeal
together, they would make a mass mueh
larger. Withal, we do not think there was
much leal enjoyment in such a shower of
falling ice, and It is to be hoped it will not,
be repeated again soon.

Jordan's Joyous Julep,

I HAVE been saying a good (leal through the
jMipers of late extolling JORDAN'S JOYOUS

[ mit to you what persons say who have tried my
' Neuralgia Julep, with the most complete and
| satisfactory result:
Columbus, January 16, 1876.
Mr .Jordan: —l take great pleasure iu recom
; mending your Joyous Julep for neuralgia,
has produced a most wonderful relief in one oj
the severest attacks ol' neuralgia my daughter
ever Las had. She has been treated for it by
three skillful physicians, with very little benefit,
and used all the usual remedies with little suc
cess. I can with much confidence hope for a per
manent cure. It is only two daya since we began
tho use of it, and it is apparently of permanent
benefit. Yours, with respect,
MRS. L. I. NORMAN.
Petersburg, Va., Jan. 15, 1875.
Jno. L. Jordan, Esq., Columbus, Ga.:
Dear Hir—Having learned through my friend
It. A. Bacon of your “J. J. J.” preparation for re
lief of ueuralgia, and tested it with perfect sue- |
cess in my own family, iu the worst case, too, i
that ever came under my observation, I now
enclose fifty cents for a second bottle, as I con
sider it too valuable a inedicino to be without,
though I have no immediate use for it.
Very truly yours,
JAMES T. TOSH.
Columbus, Ga., Nov. g, 1874.
Dr. J. L. Jordan: Dear Sir—Your Joyous Julep
for Neuralgia has been tried in my family. kLd 1

claim for its virtue. And I unhesitatingly re- !
commend it to ail who are suffering from Neural- :

Columbus, Ga.. Dee. 18,1874.
i Dr. J. L. Jordan —Your medicine, Joyous
I Julep, is without an equal tor Neuralgia. Having :
been a great sufferer from the pain, and having
tried the prescriptions of many physicians, yet
all proved of no effect until I tried four doses
of your Julep, when I was immediately relieved,
and have not been troubled since.

' Ifr. J. A. Jordan —Please send me another bot
tle of your Joyous Julep for a friend. I have
never found anything equal to it for Neuralgia,
i Two doses cured me almost instantly, and lean
‘ -ately recommend it to do what you say.
