change between the co-operativo so
cieties of Great Britain and tho Pat
rons of Husbandry of the United
States. The report is as follows:
First. That they have been inpress
ed with tho earnest desire of our sub
ordinate granges and members of
every section of the Union for active
co-operation in business enterprises,
us expressed by efforts in this direc
tion and by appeals to this executive
committee, for a systematic und uni

with our obligation to mature and
submit such a plan for adoption.
Second. That we would willingly
and cordially grasp the hand offered
by our brethren aeross the Atlantic,
and pledge to them our readiness to

efforts to secure for productive indus

tellectual and material interests of
the masses of tho people.
Third. That having examined the
details of tho plan of the 00-oporntivo
societies of Great Britain, as present
ed by their deputation, to us popular
ly known as tho Itochdale plan, and
its wonderful success, wo heartily
recommend it to the careful consid
eration of our Stale ami subordinate
granges, and to the members of our
order, and advise such action on the
part of the executive committees of
the several States as may be nocessu- j
ry to the organization and operation |
of such co-operative association with-1
in our order.
Fourth. To this end we recommend j
the appointment of a committee to
secure from the Hon. Thomas J). Wor
rall, the English deputation now
present, such rules, regulations, arti
cles of association, pamphlets, and
other writings, as may be deemed
necessary to place the desired infor
mation in this connection before the i
members of our order, and that said j
committee bo authorized to have
printed so much of said information,
and in such amount as they may!
deem advisable to be distributed to
tho executive committees of the State I
granges, with circular letters com-1
munieating the action of this'exocu
