It was a question whether or not the now line would hurt Columbus; but our merchants have been so badly freight-ridden by tho Central, that they were ready to take the chances with anything, hence were greatly disap pointed by tiie announcement that the rival line would not be placed upon the river. We are in receipt of late advices from Mr. J. P.Coker, that he is nearing New Orleans wltn Ids boat, destined fur tills place. Ilis boat Is the only chance for Co lumbus to get u reduction on freights.
