root vl a Wl*Niunar>' Uuint. Mr. Stanley tails hia ideal African missionary to brins everything ex cept Bibles ami Tesiaments, prayer books and missals, along with him, enumerating tie tilings most desirable in the outfit of this missionary of Stanleylsm the following articles : "Throe or four suite of military clothes, decorated freely with gold embroidery, with half a dozen French kepix, a sabre, a brace of pistols and suitable ammunition': a good fowling piece and rifle of good quality, as the King is not a barbarian; a cheap din ner service of Britannia ware, an Iron bedstead and counterpanes, a few pieces of cotton print, boots, &c.; iron drills and powder for blasting purposes, trowels, a couple of sized anvils, a forge and bellows, an assortment of nails and tacks, a plough, spades, shovels, pickaxes, and a couple of light buggies as spec imens ; ft magic lantern, rockets, and a photograph apparatus. The total cost of the whole need not exceed co.iKxi.” rffvnr If there is any missionary society which has available a man without a country and no particular religious doctrines, and has S‘IS,OOU to spend on suits of military clothes, firearms ami blasting implements, buggies anri Britannia ware, perhaps it will oblige Stanley, and undertake to fin ish the work of conversion begun so auspiciously by that very unique Af rican missionary.—New York Sun. The expedition which is exploring the vast and hitherto almost un known Okeefenokeo Swamp, in Geor gia, has discovered that there are no extensive lakes on the cast side of the swamn as has hitherto been be lieved. The supposed lakes are in fact prairies covered with swamp grass, and forming in the rainy sea son wide sheets of water. Among these swamp prairies are elevations resembling islands in a sea, and cov ered with a growth of trees. The soil of the islands is very rich. There are only two small lakes in the prair ies, though open are to be found, varying from twenty to twenty five feet in diameter, frequently very deep, and always covered with it growth of water lilies. The party spent some time in tracing the stream known as Double Branches, which is about fifty feet wide, and has a slug glish enrrent. The stream euters the swamp at its northern extremity, and continues its oourse about midway, and is evidently the channel for the waters of Alligator and Gum-Swamp creeks and other streams that run into the great morass. It is believed that the Double Branches is a tribu tary of the Suwanee. —New York Sun. Lei Bakn-vard Manures he Kept Ui>er Shelter.— The Nashville American concludes its remarks upon the above by saying, that the salts saved, by merely sheltering manure, gave Lord Kincaid about one hun dred bushels of potatoes more to the acre than he would have raised with out the shelter. Even in the next crop of wheat the grain was nearly fourteen bushels. The best plant food is oftetvvolatile, and always sol uble in water. It is easily lost by a stupid man, who takes no pains to raise full crops of grain, vegetables, cotton or fruit. To make a poor ar ticle of manure, and waste two-thirds of that, is calculated to bring manure making on the farm into disrepute. Learn to produce manure worth more per one hundred pounds than good hay. Concentrate fertility as you would bring the rays of the sun to a focus iu a sun-glass. J. T. NERVOUS IIKICII.ITV. Tho Press, the Pulpit aud tho Lecture room aro silent on tho subject of this disease. A false delicacy withholds a knowledge in regard to vio lation of Physiological Laws, and life-wrecks shattered humanity, lb sanity, and premature graves fill the world. No race, nation or posi tion is exempt from tho soul-destroying scourge. Sleepless nights, twitching of the muscles, trembling of tho limbs, poor appetite, easily dis turbed by noise or excitement, pimples aud blotches ou the face, desire to avoid company, pe culiar sensation over the whole body are among tho difficulties which attend this comply hit. The Cordial Balm of Syricum and Tonic Pills will in a short time so cleanse tho blood aud soothe tho nerves, and restore strength to the body, as to make life enjoyable and happy. EPILEPSY OK FITS. No other remedy will cure Epilepsy or Fits so quickly as tho Cordial Balm of Syricum and Tonic Pills. Kidney Diseases and many other difficulties are cured by the use of the Cordial Balm of Syrup and Tonic Pills. If the watery portions of our food are not pass ed off, they must, when retained in tho system, produce serious difficulties. Language fails when attempting to describe the Bufferings of per sons whose kidneys are out of order ; gravel, back-ache, inflammation of the bladder aud of the delicate membranes of the urinary organs are the result if the water is not regularly and properly carried through the kidneys. The Cordial Balm of Syricum is effectual iu promoting the secretion of tho wa tery and uunutritioue portions of the food, and iu carrying it off' by its proper outlets. Whatever portion of our food is unserviceable should be passed off in the water in sweat, and from the bowels. If these useless matters aro retained disease is sure to follow, for then the blood becomes poisoned with the impurities which should pass off in their proper channels. The Cordial Balm of Syricum and Tonic Pills is a powerful cleanser of tho blood; it starts the liver and kidneys into active operation, aud acts ou all the secretions of the body, it carries off old and foul olomoute in the blood, which are slow and sure death if allowed to remain iu the system. DR TJUNT XSLUHXnEJSS. THE CORDIAL BALM OF SYRI CUM AND TONIC PILLS is the only remedy that has over provod by prac tical experience a benefit to those who suffer from over-indulgence in Alcoholic Liquors, it com pletely destroys the tastes for them, and restores the victim to health aud vigor. A single trial will prove it to bo lust what it is recommended to bo. MORPHIKTE. THE CORDIAL BALM OP SYRI CUM AND TONIC TILLS is a sure euro for tho habitual use of Mor phine, so extensively used iu this country a a stimulant. It will in a very short time com pletely destroy the desire for this narcototic. We have many testimonials from tho first fami lies in Europe and America, who testify to its efficacy. OFItT M. The alarming increase of the use of this most pernicious drug as a stimulant, by male and fe male, and its peculiar effects, completely destroy ing the digestive apparatus and shattering the nervous system, effeminating and debasing the mind, renders The Cordial Balm of Syricum anti Tonic Pills of inestimable value, as it completely destroys all desire for this most baneful drug, and restores the nerves to a perfectly healthy state, even in cases where opium has been used in large quanti ties aud for a number of years. (Davenport Democrat, Davenport, lowa.] How fow people aro found without somo indi cations of nervous disease. This truth has heen recognized ever since classic ages, when a sound mind in a sound body was held as tho perfection of human existence. Home from congenial dis ease, others from youthful indiscretions, some from alcoholic indulgence or too free use of to bacco, suffer from tremor, palpitation of nervous excitement—all of which can bo removed aud per manently cured by tho English Remedy, tho Cor dial Balm of Syricum, which has long been in the old country the favorite remedy, and which, since its introduction into this country, has dis tanced all other medicines having the same ob ject in view.
