The particular business that petitioners,
under said corporate name and style desire to
engage in, is a general printing anil publishing
business. They desire the power to buy equip,
own, publish and maintain a newspaper, or
newspapers, and anyone or more other publica
tions or periodicals, as they may from time to
time, or at any time wish or desire to buy, pub
lish and maintain; to print, issue or publish the
same, or anyone or more of the sumo, daily,
weekiy, monthly, or at such other time or times
as they may select; to disseminate news and
other reading matter thereby; to make con
tracts concerning the same; to charge and|col
lcot for subscriptions thereto; to charge aud

erally to do and perform any and all acts or
things necessary, usual or proper In the publi

They desire the power to buy,equip, own and
maintain a job printing office or department; to
do job printing, fancy printing and all kinds
of printing; to do any and all Kinds of work of
whatever name or character appertaining or
belonging to the printing, copying, engrav
ing, eloetrotyping or lithographing business,
mid any and all kinds of work known to the
printers art and to charge and collect there
for.
Tlicv desire the power to buy and sell and
generally to deal many aud all kinds of sla
tionery, printing, blanks, forms, books and
printers supplies, and also to make, print aud
publish any and all kinds of forms, books,
blanks, wrappers,covers, posters, cards and all
forms and styles of printing and of stationery,
and the same to keeo In stock for sale, or such
other disposition as petitioners desire.
They desire (he power to buy, receive, hold
and maintain any newspaper or newspaper out
fit now existing, and to buy, receive, hold, ful
fill anil enforce any or all contracts of suoh
newspajier or its owners, and to buy, receive,
hold, use and enjoy the good will, patronage
and iranchlses of such newspaper or its owners.
They desire the power to sue and he sued; to
plead and to impleaded In all the courts of law
or equity in Oils state or the United States; to
contract and be contracted with; to have and
use a common seal, it they so desire,
and the same to alter, destroy and renew at
pleasure; to niako by-laws, binding; on their
own members, not inconsistent with the laws
of this state or of the United shales; to create
such offices as they desire; to vest the entire
management of their affars in a board of di
rectors, if they so elect to do; to re
ceive donations by gift, will or otherwise; to
purchase, hold, use and enjoy all such prop
erty, real or personal, as is necessary for the
purposes of their organisation, and the same to
sell, mortgage, lease, nlleu and convey at their
pleasure, and generally to have and enjoy all
the rights, powers and privileges usual and in
cident to corporations of like character and not
prohibited by law.
Petitioners show that the object they have In
view in engaging in said business is pecuniary
pain to themselves and those associated with
them. They further show that their principal
place of doing business will be in the city of
Brunswick, state and county aforesaid, and
that the capital stock to he employed by them
is ten thousand dollars, divided into one hun
dred sUares of the par value of one hundred dol
lars each, to be paid in in cash or Its equiva
lent ; and they further show that more tliau ten
per cent ot said capital stock has already been
paid in.
Petitioners deslrethe power to Increase said
capital stock at any time and from time to
time, as they may elect to do, to a sum not ex
ceeding twenty-five thousand dollars, or two
hundred and liftv ► hares, of tne par value of
one hundred dollars each.
Wherefore, petitioners pray that Ihy may l>e

and with all the rights, powers and privileges

It appearing to the court that Francis D. Scar
lett, the plaintiff in the above stated case, filed
his petition to foreclose a mortgage against the
defendant, Robert Bryce, on the 11th day of De
cember, eighteen hundred and ninety, and that
a rule nisi was duly granted thereon upon said
date by the court.
And it further appearing to the court that a
copy of said petition aud rule nisi, properly at
tested by Jacob L. Beach, clerk of said court,
and under the aoal of Glynn superior court, was
served upon the said defendant, Robert Bryce,
in person, by Robert the deputy
sheriff of said county of Glynn, on the sixth day
of March, eighteen hundred and ninety-one
And it further appearing to the court that
said petition and rule nisi was not served upon
the said defendant, Robert Bryce, fully three
months before the present term of said court,
to wit: the May term, eighteen hundred and
ninety-one, as the law requires.
It is, upon motion of counsel for the plaintiff,
considered, ordered and adjudged by the court
here presont, that said case be continued until
the next term of this court.
And it is further ordered, considered and ad
judged l>y the court that the defendant, Robert
Bryce, pay into this court, on or before the first
day of the next term of this court, to wit; the
December term, eighteen hundred and ninety
one, the principal and interest due on the note
and mortgage described in the plaintiff’s said
petition and rule nisi (a copy or which, said
lietition and rule nisi, has already lieen served
upon the said defendant, Robert Bryce), to
gether with tcu per cent on said principal and
interest due as attorneys fees; aud together
also with the costs of this suit; or to show legal
cause to the contraiy, If any he can. And that
on failure of the said and feudant so to do, the
court will proceed as to justice shall appertain.
And it is further ordered by the court that
tills order be puolished in The Brunswick
Times, a newspaper published in the city of
Brunswick and said county of Glynn, ome a
month for four months, or l>e served on tlie said
defendant, Robert Bryce, or his special agent or
attorney, three months previous to the next
term of this court.
Granted in open court this 29th day of May,
eighteen hundred and ninety-one.
