BLINDFOLDED, SHE
LEAPED TO DEATH.
The Body of Missing Mrs.
Miller Recovered Yes
terday.
EVIDENTLY IT WAS SUICIDE.
Discovery Made Up Academy Creek, At
Three Prongs—No Inquest Held
Had Threatened.
The search for missing Mrs. Miller
came to an abrupt end yesterday morn
ing, when the news was rapidly circu
lated that the body had been found in
the river.
At the mooring-place of the steamer
PopeCatlina crowd gathered to see
the mortal remains of the unfortunate
womau.
The body was found by James Har
ris and his two sons. They were out
fishing, and at that portion of Acad
emy creek designated by the name
‘•Three Prongs,” they saw the body of
a woman lying on a mud-bank. They
made a closer inspection. The body
was well preserved, and the only
marked peculiarity was a bandage
tied around the head and hiding the
eyes. Mrs. Miller had evidently blind
folded herself and walked Into the
river, the blindfolding being a pre
caution to prevent any weakening of
her suicidal purpose.
The body was lloated to the Pope
Catlin’s wharf, and Coroner Jennings
was sent for. lie deemed an inquest
unnecessary. Undertaker Moore pre
pared the body for burial.
The suicide theory was evidently
the correct one, Mrs. Miller having
several times recently threatened to
take her life.
The funeral occurred yesterday af
ternoon at 4 o’clock from the residence.
Mr. Will Miller, the grief-strfcken
son, has the sincere sympathy of the
community.

Did you ever stop to think what in
digestion really means? It means
simply that your stomach is tired. It
our legs are tired, we ride. The horse
and the steam engine do the work.
Why not give your stomach a ride;
that is; let something else do its
work. Foods can be digested outside
of the body. All plants coutain diges
tive principles which will do this. The
Shaker Digestive Cordial contains di
gestive principle and is a preparation
designed to rest the stomach. The
Shakers themselves have such un
bounded contidence in it that they
have placed 10 cent sample bottles on
the market, and it is said that eveu so
small a quantity proves beneficial in a
vast majority of cases. All druggists
keep it.
