WADED WETLY
IN WASHOUTS.
The Riflemen Have a Three
Mile Tramp and Arrive
in Bad Shape.
CLAIM THE DRILL WAS UNFAIR.
Because Albany Man Gave Commands-
Twomey Does Best Work—Some of
Them Under the Weather-
Brunswick’s Rillemen had a trip yes
terday that they will not wish to re
peat.
The following special to The Times
last night tells the story of this re
markable military expedition.
Albany, March 23.—After a journey
of 18 hours, including a long and fa
tiguing Btay at Willingham, 10 miles
from the city, incident to the general
washout, the Brunswick Rillemen ar
rievd here at 2 o’clock. They were in
the worst possible condition for a fes
tive occasion; wet, worn and muddy,
they looked like a detachment retreat
ing from a hard fought engagement.
The company had to swim and wade
ovsr three miles through the llood in
order to reach Albany at all. There
was no railroad connection.
The company, however, was plucky
enough to put up four men in the in
dividual drill, although they were in
no condition to do good work. A. C.
Jeffers, J. M. Wiggins, Henry Pear
son and J. P. Twomey represented the
Riflemen. They drilled against
twelve men, chosen from each of the
other four companies present.
Scott, of the Albany Guards, won
the medal. The Rillemen went out in
the following order: Jeffers third,
Wiggins eleventh, Pearson twelfth
and Twomey fourteenth, the latter
standing third to the last.
The Rillemen made a protest on the
ground that an Albany ollicer gave
the commands in the drill, thus giv
ing an advantage to the Guards.
It is impossible to say at present
when the Rillemen will reach home.
If we could trace dyspepsia to its
source, it would lead back to our kitch
ens. Id fact, the secret of good health
is good cooking. If well cooked,
foods are partially digested; if poorly
cooked, they ate less digestible than in
their raw state. If you are a victim
of faulty cooking; that is, if you suf
fer from dyspepsia the rational cure
must be looked for in an artificially di
gested food, and a food which will at
the same time aid the digestion of
other foods, Buch a preparation vir
tually rests the tired digestive or
gans, thereby restoring them to their
natural strength.
The Digestive Cordial, as prepared
by the Shakers of Mount Lebanon, is
just such a preparation, and a single
10-cent bottle will convince you of its
value. If your druggist doesn’t keep
it, he will be glad to get it through
his wholesale house.
