A meeting of tbe oommitte* ap
pointed by the grand lodge of Masons
to devise waye and mean* to eitablish
a Masonic home in Georgia wae held
Saturday at noon in the office of Jul
ius L. Brown in Atlanta. The meet
ing was called by Deputy Grand Mas
ter Max Meyerbardt of Rom*.
Tb* following members of tbe oom
mittae were presant: Chairman Max
Meyerhart, Rome; Washington Des
seau, Macon ; L. C. Hsyo*, Augusta;
Ohetles F. Fulton. Stvannah, and Jul
iue L. Brown.
Tbia was tbs drat masting of the
oommitte* aod the time was nearly
all consumed in organizing aud map
ping out a line of work.
The following resolution wae intro
duced by Julius L. Brawn, and was
adopted by a unanimous vote:
Resolved, That the grand seoretary

committee the name and address of

of the oommittee in Rome on May 11,

lodge, whlob meets in Ootober.
After tbe meeting Mr. Meyerbardt
aaid:
“This committee wan appointed by
ths grand lodge last October to devise
ways and means to establish a M.asor -
io home in Georgia for widows and
orphans of Masons and for aged and
indigent Masons. The Masons in
uinetsen other states have established
these home* to ear* for their poor and
now tbe Mason* of Georgia are en
deavoring to build one. Atlanta,
Kom* and Macon arc competing for
the bom*. This committee will receive
donations and ohoose tbs site for tbe
home.
“We have had today plans and re
ports of all tbe other Masonio homes
now in existence before. We have
oarefnily studied tbe plans and gone
oyer tbs annual reports of the insiitu
tlons with tbe idea of eliminating
tbsir defect* and ohoosing their good
points for use in the plans we wil
•übasit to the grand lodge of Ma*ons
next October.
“Nothing ef importance was accom
plished today. We merely mapped
out the line ef work to be f llowed.
Tbe hardest work of the committee
will be dene between now end May

“Following Mr. Brown’* resolution

which ran over him, cutting off both
legs and an arm. Mr. Jennings died
shortly ether having been brought to
