ilies were greatly shocked yesterday
morning to learn of the death of their
mother, Mrs. Margaret 11, Raymond,
which occurred in this city at tbs res
idence of Mr. J. 8. Raymond. Mrs.
Raymond arrived in the city about
otie week ago for the purpose of
spending the winter here with her
eons, as bad been her custom for sev
eral s”asons past,aud while her health
has not been the best since a recent
attack of the grippe, there was noth
ing in her condition to prepare those
who loved her for the tnd'enness of
bar dra'h. Yis’eidiy morning ehe
went down tobreakfast when a feeliug
of intense pain seeiased her arnn aod
extended upward-ltoiher heart. She wus
almost overcome with the agony of
the pain, and as hastily as posslbls
was conveyed to a couch and physi
oians hummoned, The end oame, how
ever, before it was ponible to relieve
her suffering, and a short while after
the physiciao arrived she breathed htr
last.
The death of this estimable lady has
bren a sad blow to many llrunsvrlck
ians, who had Parried to love her

temperament and lovable disposition
had endeared her to ell so fortunate
ae to have been her friend', and in her

freely spoken since the news of her
sad.death became known. The funeral
services will be held today at eleven
