over the First Methodist church for
the past fifteen years it about to be
cleared off.
Among the ohuroh members and
congregation faithful work baa been
done lately, and it is expected that
those who attend services in that
church tomorrow will do so in aohurob
that does not owe a oent to any one.

make their home at Bt. Mark’s reotory,
Rev. Roeney entering at once upon

of friends in Albany, where she is
spending several weeks.

Spencer It. Atkinson regret to know
that she has been quite sick for

Mr. and Mrs. G-orge Palmer Smith,
in compliment to her two grandmoth

As soon as she is able to take the
journey Mrs. S. C. Atkinson will go
to White Sulphur [Springs, Fla., for
several weeks to regain ber health.
Her sister, Mrs. G. W. Blanton, will
accompany her.

SUMMER UNIFORMS.
What Has Bess Adopted For tho Qoorgia
Military.
The summer uniform for the Gyver
nor’s staff has been adopted. It is
very handsome, being of a light brown
shade, with collar of black, and brats
buttons. Tbe ooat Is sack, of tbe field
blouse make, and is exceedingly neat
and natty. Col. Louis Kennon called
on tbe Governor tlie other day abd
showed him a specimen "field blouse,’’
wbicb was much admired. The color
of tbe pants will match tbe coar, with
blaok stripe. Tbe material Is of light
wool, very line texture. The uniform
will cost sir>. They will be worn by
tbe GoverDbr’s staff and tbe ofllcers of
the Georgia soldiery. The suits for
tbe men in line will be of light brown
wool n material, of somewhat pater
shade, and will cost $4 50 each. They
will be of tbe same material and style
now worn by the oadets at West
Point.
A Welootne Visitor.
Mr. Geo. C. Walters of tho firm of
Perryman & Walters, of Atlanta, is a
welcome visitor to Brunswick who will
remain a day or two.

Louise Boiler, the li le lady who
plays the part of Chubby Kratz, in the
L ghtning Express, Monday night,
recently distinguished herself in a
mist heioio way. While the company
were filling an engagement in a cer

peries of the stage setting, imperilling

done, and the performance proceeded
without the audience’s knowledge that
a serious contlugration bad narrowly
been averted. Little Louise was pre
sented with a handsome diamond ring
by the house manager for her bravery.

ber you can’t get a loaf of bread from
me on Sunday, so it will be necessary
to get your Sunday’s supplies on Sat
