MIKORITY REPORT OPPOSED
Jadge Oeurtland Symmea and Harion Lue-s
oa Oae Committee and Congressman
Brantley, Mra. Lytle Bad Mra.
Kransi an the Othar.
There aeema to be considerable
doubt as to just who won the prizes in
the floral parade yesterday afternoon,
aa far as repreaentativea of The Times
aould aaoertain, tbe quietion had
not been deoided last nigbt. It seems
tbat two committees were eeleeted
and tbat aaob committee differed aa to
wbo should receive the prizes.
Judge Court land Symmee and Mr.
Marion Luoae, of the Savannah Preaa,
composed one oommittee and Con
gressman Brantley, Mre. W. 11. Lytle
and Mr*. D. W. Krauss were on the
other, It seema that tbe report of the
latter oommittee wa* the judgment of
the iminonty and that It wee not tbe
rerdiot oi Col. Brantley and Mre.
Lytle. Judee Sy trine* end Mr. Luoa*
were unanimous in their • lections end
it fa quite probable that there judge
ment wiU be accepted by the fair offi
cial*. The iverdlot of the minority in
the oommittee of three ;dld not. meet
with popular favor, while the unani
mous .opinions of the two Judges wae
pleasantly received. ~
The minority report awarded the
flrat prize to Mr, Bestor Coleman and
Mies Coleman. No second or third
•vleotioni warn made./ In the bicycle
competition, Libby .Cilne was given
tbe flrat prlfce, 'young Winter second
and Frankie May Br u ck third.
The following!** copy of tbe report
or Judge Hymmerand Mffe^Sae:
We consider tbe trap ilh.en by
IHH# Mile Clin* tojbave been.tbe beet,
that driven by little Mis* Mott second
end that by Judge WbiiHeld third.
It mignt be well to state right her*
that |lf IJudge | Wbitfaid had been
ont the parade that vehicle wonld
have been considered the beat. This
is the unanimous opinion of the
judge*.
In tbe bloycle parade we| consider
young Cline, as down, was tbe best,
with Miaa Ducills Kendrick second
and Julius Tankeraley third.
