DONATED A LOT.
Bruuswiok Library Association Receives
as Eosooragiag Proposition.
Mr. C. Downing, of tbia oity, has
Offered tbe Brunswick Library asso
ciation a valuable lot in the heart of
tbe business section provided they
raise a autHeient fund to erect thereon
a building suitable for tbair purpose
and one that will be creditable in ev
ery way to this city.
Tbe aisooiation baa decided to ac
cept tbs proposition aod tbs business
men connected with tbe library are
now endeavoring to devite ways and
means to raise a sufficient amount.
Jt is realized tbst (be amount to be
raiied cannot be secured in tbe usual
manner that accompanies bsnelts of
ordioary character, as it would take
too long a time and too much work to
gat the money by entertainments, sto.
While tbe business men srs trying
to. solve tbe problem of raising tbe
fund the ladies are also at work and
betweeo tbe two sources it is more
than probable that tbeassooiatioo will
soon have money enough to warrant
i heir asking for deeds to tbe lot offer,
