prove Interesting and in some instances
great good comes from an airing of
matters in which all citizens arc inter

BRANTLEY'S OPPONENT,
The candidacy of W. H. Marston for
congress from this district may be re
garded as a huge joke.
We are not personally sequainted
with this gentleman, but we have no
doubt but that be is wbat can right
fully be termed a political crank.
When a man becomes a candidate for
an office knowing that there is abso
lutely no chance for election, he either
Is devoid of pride or else is what we
termed above, a crank.
As long as the democrats of this
district are satisfied with th.jQO orepra
sentative just so long ht. r , saug,t{p6V
sent. The republicans var t
deals are powerless anil if is f ,
that they are.
During the time Mr. Brantly ha*
been our congressman be bEa demon

tion, and the people will always honor
real merit.
j •
The Thcss-Call, like the other
papers of this section, has given lit
tle mention to Mr. Marston, simply
because be does not deserve it, in
fact his candidacy was nothing when
it started, and nothing from nothing
