The hew boat is much on the order of the Hessie No. 1, only a great deal larger and more powerful. She is 96 feet long, 16 feet beam, and 4 1-2 draft, She to new from stem to stern, only having been 1 aunched at Port Amboy last July. She to fitted up with some haudsomo machinery. The Bessie will begin her regular run on either Monday or Tuesday of next week. The Hessie No. 1 will be laid up for some lime and will be used by her owners only ae a reserve boat. Dr, Hugh Bur ford was sworn in for the full term of tbree year* to take tbe'plaoe of Mr. S. C. Atkinson and Mr, A. V. Wood for two years to fill out the unexpired term Of Mr. W. E. Kay. Arrange ments were set on foot for buiidlag a nice new sohool house at the four mile orossing, for the ooovenienoe of the people in that neighborhood. This will make tbe tenth sohool house owned by the board in tbe country district*. All tbe country teaobere who will call on Prof. Orr at anytime Saturday will reoesve their obeoka for the first month’s work.
