message to the general assembly today
was a salty document. He called at
tention to the deficit now existing in
the state treasury, which shows the
state to be short $74,000 this year and
$162,000 rext year unless the appro
priations are out down or the tax rate
raised. The most important reoom
mendations were to out down the
pension fond to an indignant basis
and to reduce the publio school fund.
