The McKinley National Memorial Association having been incorporated according to law, met in Cleveland for the purpose of iff cling an organisation by the election of officers and adoption of regnlations for its government. The President of the United States, at the request of Mrs. MoKinley and members of the family, named the fol lowing Board of Trustees: Cornelous N. Bliss, New York, Dolan, Philadelphia, W. Murray Crane, Boston, H. Revell, Chicago, Charles W. Fairbanks. Indianapolis, Henry M Duffield, Detroit, George B. Cortelyou, Washington, Ell Torrance, Minneapolis. William A. The purposes of the Association, as defined in its certificate of incorporat ion, are the erection and maintenance at Canton, Ohio, of a suitable m morial to the late President, and raising the necessary funds for said purposes; and, after fully providing therefor, tbe sur plus of such funds, if any, to be devoted te euon memorial as may be provided for tbe late President at the National Capitol. Tbe memorial will be erected at Can ton, that city having been bii home throughout hie public life and seleoted by him as bis final retting plaoe, Tbe memorial it to be, in tbe high*, eit tense, tbe sincere expression of all tbe people of tbe oountry of tbeir love for President MoKtnley and of tbeir admiration for tbe qualities expressed to eminently in bit life and deeds. It is the purpose to bare the offerings of the people voluntary with a full op portunity to all to contribute. Tbe 00-operation of the governors and (ffioers of the states and munici* palties of tbe United States, and all re* ligiout. educational, oivio, patriotic, fraternal, benevolent, and other organ* izations is invited. All publio officials, organised bodies and the press are requested to take im mediate steps to secure, at the earliest time, a full response to this appeal. The association will prepare and dis tribute to all donors to the fund a sou venir oertifloate which will be worthy of preservation as evidenoe of the holder's pirticlpatlon in the work. The name and postoffloe address of each oontribntor should be forwarded to the treasurer of the Association with the fund remitted, for the preservation in permanent arobieves of the associa tion. It is hoped that the response of the people will be so liberal that a memori al may be ercotsd which will fittingly honor the memory of our martyred president, and emphasize their loyalty to onr institutions and their abhor ni renoe o that spirit ef lawlessness whioh inspired the assault upon bis life TO THE PUBLIC. In pursuance to request of the McKinley National Memorial Association whose etatement to the public ie published in another oolumn in tnis paper, we take this method of calling the attention of the people of Brunswick to the subject and to ask their co-operation in thievery lauda ble undertaking. It is the purpose of the Association as defined in the certificate of incorporation to erect and maintain at Canton, Ohio, a suitable memorial to the late president, and to raise the necessary funds for that purpose by popular subscription. As stated by the Board of Trustees of the Association “the memorial is to be in the highest sense the sincere expression of all the people of the country of their love for President McKinley and of their admira tion for the qualities expressed bo emi nently in his life and deedsAs they also express it “It ie the purpose to have the offerings of the people voluntary with a full opportunity to all to contribute.” Feeling confident that the people of Brunswiok, who have shown that their love for the late president and their grief over the tragic ending of his noble career was as sincere and heartfelt as that which found expression elsewhere throughout our etrioken land, will desire to participate in this great national undertaking, we do not hesitate to ask in behalf of the astooia tion, their hearty 00-operation. The National Bank of Brunswiok and he Brunswick Bank and Trust Cos., will receive on behalf of the committee such contributions as the people of Brunswick may desire to make and forward the same promptly to the Treasurer of the Associa tion. Atlanta, Nov. 20—As predioted yes terday,the Wright dispensary bill pass ed the senate this afternoon by a vote of 26 to 14 and the bill will now beoome a law if Governor Candler approves it, It is very likely that he will attach his signature to the measure as soon as it is presented to him.
