ACTION Or THE COM M ITTEE. ,
And Mr. H. F. Dunwody's Reply.
Touching Several Questions.
The committee,appointed al the last
meeting of the Young Men’r
Democratic Club to notify Mr- H. F
Dunwody of his nomination bj- th< 1
club, called on Mr. Dunwody. this
morning, and, through its chairn’an.
announced to him that he had been
chosen as the candidate of the club.
At. 11 o’clock Mr. Dunwody ad
dtessed the following communication I
to the committee;
“Bin nswick, Ga., July 2<>.—
Messrs. li. S. McCrary, 11. 11. Harvey
and J. A. Carroll—Gentlemen: —
Through you, asa committee appoint
ed by the Young Men’s Democratic
Club of this county, 1 was notitied
that the club, at a large and enthusi
astic meeting held Thursday, decided
to support me as a canidute before
the Democratic primaiy election to
be held on July 29.
“In acknowledging the action of
the club, allow me to say that I ap
preeiate highly the- esteem and in
t.erCM. that niv young fellow citizens
feel in the nomination of a person ou
whom they can rely to uphold the
principles of the democracy, one who
will be a credit to the good conntv
of Glynn. I appreciate most highly
the honor conferred upon me, as well
as the flattering language used in
the resolutions which were adopted
of the club since they have the tru <
ritisj of pure democr: cy and express
the high I'egard Tor me as a man
having a clean record and worthy • f
the support of my fellow citizens,
both old and young.. x
1 I icalize thiit the time ha- conn

' I hail with joy this era in public as

strong believer in the principle th: t
every man should be allowed to pur

“If nominated in the primary elec

RICE IS DOING WELL.
Harvest Time will Reign Within
Three or Four Weeks.
Rice is doing exceptionally « ell jus:
[ now, and barring freshets, three will
be a good crop. Harvesting time
[ commences in about four weeks.
, When it approaches the minds of
I the planters will be burdened with
anxiety which will not entirely dis
appear until the entire crop has
1 ' been gathered in.
Ri.-e is now heading up. At ('har
leston some in the milk has been re
reived. T hat around Savannah and
Brunswick is nearly as we I pro
g. ‘sstd. The planters, as a rule,
s tm satisfied with the season since
Ihe cold sp: ing ended, and are not
inclined to be pessimistic.
The supply of rice in the market
is now altogethir inadequate to meet
the deman Is, and all the dealers will
hail with delight the coming of the
new crop.
Before going traveling and
in need of n new valise call at
the I’.dais Royal where yon r ill
be suited in style and ; rice.

Don’t forget you will find at
the Palais Royal a full line of
