TO SUBSCRIBERS.
The management of The Post is
making ar. earnest etfoit tor the
prompt delivery of the paper to every
subscriber. Anyone who fails to get
his paper, will confer a favor by re
porting the fact to the business otfice,
114 Richmond street.
TO ADVERTISERS.
All contract advertisers will please
arrange to have the copy for any
changes or for new advertisements,
sent to the business oilice of The
Post the day I efore the change is
to be made. The management wi!’
esteem it a special favor if this re
quest is complied with.
Learning is a very good thing for
a man to have in his upper story if
he has common sense on the ground
floor.
The Columbus Enquirer-Sun did
itself proud yesterday. Eighteen
pages chock full of bright interesting
news, well written editorials and
catching advertisements speaks well
for the city of Columbus and for the
splendid management of the paper.
This is Labor day all over the
United States. The day will b<
generally observed throughout the
northern cities. There will be nc
special demonstration in Brunswick
. other than to observe the nine hour
mw. It is understood that all mem
■cis of the trade unions will quit
al o'clock this evening.

BVrtions that it is m n tin riiiel issue
Hff the day in that state. Comment
ying on the subject the Memphis
Commercial has this to say:
“The proposition to engraft woman
suffrage in the constitution in Miss
issippi, indorsed by the committee on
the elective franchise, has become an
issue, and will no doubt be ably de
bated, as some of the strongest and
best speakers in the constitutional
convention are for it, and are prepar
ing to carry it through that body if
possible. It is believed by a great
many influential persons in the state
to be the best means of solving the
vexing race question. It would give
the whites a decided majority, coup
led with an increased poll tax and
the secret ballot.
THE POST'S ADVERTISERS.
The Post goes out to its readers
this evening tilled with bright reada
ble advertisements, besides the full
quota of local news and current com
ment.
A number of new advertisements
may be found in its columns to-dav
and the management takes great
pleasure in saying that each and
every one of these advertisements
represents individuals or firms who
are wide awake, fully up to the de
mand of the times and able and will
ing to carry out to the letter every
thing promised.
No one thing denotes the growth
and enterprise of a place more than
a well patronized newspaper. In
this respect Brunswick is up with, if
not ahead of any city in Georgia.
Our merchants arc liberal ano
progressive; they have something to
selj and they want the people to know
it. For this they are willing to pay.
and thousands of dollars for this
purpose goes annually to Brunswick's
two newspaperr,.
The Evening Post has its share
of this patronage and its advertisers
may rest assured that the manage
ment is fully appreciative and will
spare no pains to make the paper an
advertising medium second to none
in Brunswick.
There are a few merchants who
arc not yet represented in the Post.
To those the management says, “give
us a share of your business, we guar
anleethat what you may tell will
reach the people through
the Post and be read by
them and that is all you want."
THEATERS AND PREACHERS.
‘ The proprietor of a certain tlica-
K ter in London recently gave a special
. performance exclusively for the
' clergymen of that city. Twelve
s hundred invitations were issued and
every one of the clerical gentlemen
accepted but eight. It is reported
that they were highly entertained
ami went away much impressed that
a good play is something to be en
“ joyed.
It is hoped that this aflair was the
• means of disabusing their minds of
the common rubbish that prevails in
s the preaching fraternity about then
t, tors, and if it did serve to do 'this
the proprietor who conceived the
scheme deserves the thunks of the
1 world.
There are a great many J things

t on that ground we might condemn
every institution on earth. It is th<
