7th Annual Rich Products Corporation
Golden Isles Red Trout Celebrity Classic
The Georgia Chapter of the Cys
tic Fibrosis Foundation will hold the
7th annual Rich Products Corpora
tion Golden-Isles Red Trout Celebrity
Classic on October 9-11, 2008 at the
Golden Isles Marina on St. Simons
Island.
This tournament is part of the larg
er Redbone Red Trout Series, a hand
ful of events held in the southeastern
part of the country. Approximately 30
total Redbone Celebrity tournaments
are held each year, and the proceeds
from all events benefit the Cystic
Fibrosis Foundation (CFF), raising
over ten million dollars since its incep
tion nineteen years ago.
The 7th Annual Rich Products Cor
poration Golden Isles Red Trout Celeb
rity Classic is an all-inclusive com
petitive fishing tournament designed
to please the recreational and avid
angler alike. All of the species are
released live to promote conservation
in the Georgia waters.
Points are awarded for each seat-
rout or redfish caught, based on
whether the fish bit live bait, lure,
or fly, with fly-caught fish receiving
the most points. Each trout or redfish
must measure at least 14 inches to
receive points. Each angler will help to
“catch the cure” for cystic fibrosis.
The entry fee per boat is $2,900 with
$1,755 of the fee being tax deductible.
The entry includes a licensed cap
tain for two-days of fishing including
meals.
A kick-off party at a private home on
Sea Island Thursday evening catered
by St. Simons own Dave Snyder of
Halyards is also included in the fee.
The weekend concludes at an Awards
Dinner Ceremony on Saturday eve
ning where top prizes will be awarded
in 15 categories of scoring.
Our goal is to raise $100,000 for the
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. “Nearly
900 of every dollar will raise during
this fishing tournament will be avail
able to fund research, care and educa
tional programs,” says Susan Smith of
the CFF.
The median age survival for a per
son with CF has improved from early
childhood in the 1950’s to 37.4 years
today. However, cystic fibrosis con
tinues to be a critical health matter,
as most individuals with the disease
must battle chronic lung infections for
their entire lives. At least one person
dies from CF each day.
Call the Georgia chapter office at
(404) 325-6973 or (800) 476-4483 for
information about registering a team
or sponsoring the event.
The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis
Foundation is to assure the develop
ment of the means to cure and control
cystic fibrosis and to improve the qual
ity of life for those with the disease.

fibrosis, call (800) FIGHT CF or visit
