The historic plant collections
at this facility began more than a

three clumps of giant timber bamboo
obtained from the rice-growing plan
tation, Vallambrosa, located on the
Ogeechee River.
Centered on an early 20th cen
tury farmstead, Georgia Southern
University Botanical Garden offers
visitors a unique view of the cultural
and natural heritage of the south
eastern coastal plain, an area rich in
unique and endangered plants.
The garden’s nearly 11-acre site,
located in the middle of Statesboro,
includes walking woodland trails,
the Bland Cottage Visitor’s Center,
Heritage Garden, Rose Arbor, Chil
