CCGA launches master planning process
Back Talk
Continued from Page 20
grams simply do not create prosperity
and Barack Obama told Joe the plumb
er that giving people who make less
than $250,000 a year a $5,000 check is
going to create prosperity because they
will be able to hire a plumber.
The sad part is people are falling for
Obama's 'hate-the-rich, it's-their-fault'
fear mongering... when, like the Holly
wood-left, he is one of them, the rich.
And it's not just Obama's relation
ship with Ayers.
The Senator's had a number of
questionable associations with people
including Kalid Al-Mansour the Black
Muslin, Black Nationalist who raised
money for Obama's Harvard educa
tion; convicted illegal fundraiser Tony
Rezko who raised money for Obama
and gave him a sweetheart deal on
Obama's Hyde Park real estate; Com
munist poet Frank Marshall Davis
who was Obama's high school mentor;
Kenya prime minister Raila Odinga
who Obama helped raise money for
in the U.S. for Odinga's presidential
campaign in east Africa; and of course
there's America hater Rev. Jeremiah
Wright.
In my senior year at Glynn Acade
my, Mrs. McDonald taught psychology
half the year and American Govern
ment the other half.
I remember her telling us in psy
chology class that if we dressed like
hippies, grew our hair long like hippies
and associated with hippies then we
were hippies.
Think about it... it's still not the
clothes. □
The College of Coastal Georgia
launched its comprehensive campus
master plan initiative, with the con
vening of the master plan steering
committee. Chaired by retired Coastal
Resources chief and past chair of the
College Foundation Duane Harris, the
steering committee is comprised of 20
members representing community and
campus interests.
The committee will meet over the
next nine months to construct the road
map for the development and refine
ment of the campus, targeting the pres
ent and future needs of the college. The
process will analyze current capacity
and resources and plan for future infra
structure and environmental design
needs. The goal will be a comprehensive
design that creates the future identity
for the College, anchored firmly in the
academic mission and goals, historic
development and traditions, physical
setting, and regional and community
values.
The College has selected Eva Klein
& Associates (EKA) to serve as the
master plan consultants. Based in
Washington, DC, EKA is one of the
nation’s most respected strategic plan
ning firms in higher education. The
EKA team has worked across the globe
with many of the finest small and
large colleges and universities, from
Columbia University to Smith Col
lege. Recently, the team spearheaded
the comprehensive higher education
planning process for the University of
North Carolina system. The Coastal
Georgia master plan will be their first
Georgia engagement.
During the academic year 2008-
2009, the College of Coastal Georgia
will transition to become a baccalaure
ate degree granting institution. The
College of Coastal Georgia continues
to offer associate degree programs
and transfer credit options. Over the
course of the next year, the College
is planning a wide range of campus
improvements and mission enhance
ments. These initiatives, guided by
the master planning process, will be
designed to improve academic offer
ings and develop improved student life.
The College will be exploring options
for food service, residential facilities,
health services, and expanded social
offerings.
