It's not the clothes
Of the many things I don't under
stand, the one I understand least is,
with all the issues facing this nation,
why the Democrats, national media and
Obama/Biden campaign so obsessed
with Sarah Palin's wardrobe and the
fact that the Republican National Com
mittee spent $150,000 on her clothes?
First, it wasn't taxpayer money, it
was the RNC's and just like you and
I, they can spend their money as they
see fit.
Second, some of the clothes were
sent back and others are being donated
to charity.
Third, it's not like some pretty
famous Dems - Bill Clinton, John
Edwards - haven't gone around sport
ing $400 haircuts in the past.
And fourth Ms. Palin herself did
not go to the stores herself and insist
the RNC buy her a bunch of designer
clothes. It was done because the party
wants her to look good on the unending

campaign trail.
I am much more concerned about
Barack Obama's association with a man
who recently posed for what appears to
be a 'promotional' photograph standing
on a crumpled up American flag in an
alley.
If that isn't proof of Bill Ayers's feel
ings toward this country, I don't know
what is.
Last week I got an e-mail from a
friend and reader who was concerned
about an op-ed piece we ran that was
critical of Barack Obama.
Considering it was the first time
this particular person has e-mailed me
with a complaint, I figure we still have
a pretty good track record.
But fact is I still have concerns
about Senator Obama-
One of the biggest is one of his com

While the one about redistributing
the wealth is very disturbing, the most
upsetting one was about 'prosperity
coming from the bottom up.'
I certainly didn't go to Harvard, nor
do I have a business degree, but I do
know that to assert that prosperity

comes from the bottom up is absolutely
absurd and 180 degrees wrong.
What is the bottom to which Sen.
Obama was referring?
Considering the comment is about
prosperity, the bottom must be the bot
tom of the financial ladder, which in
this country is the unemployed, home
less and poor - the same as in every
country on the planet.
With all respect, these folks are not
generating "prosperity."
Prosperity comes from one place and
one place only - employment!!! Jobs!!!
People who work, take care of their
families and other responsibilities. Peo
ple who save and spend wisely stimu
lating the economy. People who save
enough to start their own businesses
and create more jobs for more people.
This is where prosperity comes from,
not from people who would rather stay
at home and collect a welfare check
than work for a living.
Government does not create pros
perity with welfare programs. Sure it's
good to help people who truly need a
hand up, but the system is so rife with
fraud and abuse, well, we all know
about that.
The point is, these government pro-
