Symphony Society plans annual gala
The Symphony
Society of the Coastal
Symphony of Georgia
will hold its annual
gala, Cabaret 2009,
at the Cloister Ball
room on Saturday,
February 28, 2009.
Over 400 guests
are expected to
attend this perennial
sell-out event which
is the premier fund
raising effort of the
Symphony.
The centerpiece
of the 2009 Cabaret
gala will be a three
course dinner high
lighted by a live
musical performance
by noted Kansas
City jazz virtuoso
and recording artist,

The Symphony Society was formed
in 2006 as the volunteer auxiliary arm
of the Coastal Symphony of Georgia
and currently has over 330 members.
The Symphony Society functions under
the auspices of the Coastal Symphony
of Georgia Board of Trustees to promote
musical enrichment in our Golden Isles
community of coastal Georgia.

Marine Corps Reserve to hold
Toys for Tots Dinner meeting
The Golden Isles Council of the
Navy League of the United States will
hold it's annual Marine Corps Reserve
Toys for Tots Christmas Dinner meet
ing on Sunday evening, December 7,
at the Sea Palms Golf & Tennis Resort
on St. Simons Island.
The proceeds of the Toys for Tots
event will help insure that less for
tunate children in the Golden Isles
receive a gift for Christmas.
The guest speaker is Colonel Joseph
K. Haviland, Commanding Officer,
Blount Island Command, Jackson
ville, Florida. Several community and
civic leaders will be honored guests,
and scholarships will be presented
to the College of Coastal Georgia for
the Hugh Mayberry, Charles Philips
and Lee Steams Memorial Scholar
ship Funds.
The Social hour cash bar begins at
6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. RSVP to
Jerry Rhyne by December 3 at 912-
261-0641 and leave a message. This is
a coat and tie affair. Dinner cost is $30
per person, $5 of which will be donated
to the Toys for Tots Program.

Computer Club
The Southeast Coastal Georgia
Computer Club will meet on Tuesday,
December 2, at 7 p.m., at the Lord of
Life Lutheran Church On Frederica
Rd., St. Simons Island. There will be a
presentation on WebCams, Shopping
Online and Gift Ideas.
Anyone interested in computers is
urged to attend, especially novice users.
All meetings are open to the public.
No fees or membership requirements.
