Sorry... I had to laugh
So, I’m listening to Fox news last
Friday morning as I’m getting ready
for work and I hear a report about the
largest jewel heist in French history.
And why is the word ‘heist’ only used
in jewel and art robberies? Are people
who steal jewels and art a higher class
of thief? Or do we just believe them to
be?
Anyway, seems four men, two of
them dressed as women - yes, cross
dressers, in drag - went into the Harry
Winston jewelry store on posh Avenue
Montaigne, near the Champs-Elysees
in Paris, Thursday afternoon and after
posing as customers for a few minutes,
brought out the guns and robbed the
place of $108 million worth of dia
mond rings, necklaces and high end
watches.
And if the cross-dressing thing isn’t
funny enough...
The robbers knew exactly where to
find the really expensive jewelry, the
goods that are too valuable to put out
on public display.
Inside job? Sounds like it.
But, some of the robbers called store
employees by their name!?!?!?
Isn’t the object of an inside job to
keep the fact that it is an inside job a
secret. I mean if police known a store
employee is in on the job, they have a
link to the rest of the gang. Duh!!!
And just for that last bit of comedic
spice, it was reported that Harry Win
ston’s alarm system went off during
the robbery - to no avail.
It went off in their security compa
ny’s home office... in Switzerland...
What the hell is that about?
I can just imagine that phone con
versation...
“Yes, this is Mike at Larry’s Swiss
Security - We protect more than just
your cheese' - Is this Harry Winston’s
jewelry store in Paris? We’re showing
that your alarm system has been acti
vated. Is everything OK?”
“Thees ees Jacques. Oui, oui! Urry
up, we are being the, how you say?
Robbed!!! Mon deiu!!!”
“Yeah, OK there Jackie, we’ll have a
couple of officers out on the next flight
down from the Zug office. They’ll be on
the 4-18 at 7:09 so if you could arrange
to have somebody meet them at Orly,
that’d be great. Save us a lot of time
and trouble, not to mention taxi fare.”
“Sacre Bleu!!! Zee robbairs weel be
gone by zen!”
“Yeah pal, that’s what you get for
hiring a fancy Swiss security company
when your store is in Paris.”
Happy Thanksgiving
...to me
How many of you have gotten a traf
fic ticket on Thanksgiving?
I have.
It’s like Christmas Day... unless you
are doing something horribly wrong
cops should have some compassion.

Like once, years ago, I got stopped
on my birthday and after seeing the
date on my driver's license the officer
was nice enough to let me go with a
warning.
But, as I sat on the side of the F. J.
Torras Causeway last Thanksgiving
Day, on my way to Pam’s house for
dinner with a big group of good friends
and family, waiting for a Georgia State
Patrol officer to write me a ticket for
not wearing a seat belt I had to won
der..
First I wondered... if that damn wall
was built I wouldn't be getting this
ticket.
Then I wondered what kind of cop
would give someone a citation for a
seat belt violation on Thanksgiving
Day?
Frankly, I thought is was kind of
petty and, well, a crappy thing to do.
Maybe he was mad that he had to
work on Thanksgiving instead of being
home with his family eating turkey, so
he decided to take it out on us drivers?
Or...
Maybe it was something as simple
as making a quota?
Or...
Maybe he was bored.
Or...
I did notice in my rear view mirror
there was a woman in the passenger’s
seat of his patrol car, maybe it was
someone he wanted to impress. From
where I was sitting I couldn’t tell if she
was wearing a uniform, but it’s been
my experience that if there are two
officers in the car, both of them are
going to get out. She just sat there. So
who knows who she was or what she
was doing?
As I waited for my ticket, I watched
other cars go past, I’m sure with
thoughts of Thanksgiving dinner, fam
ily and friends on their minds.
Traffic was light, as is usually is on
a day like that when most folks stay
home or have been at their holiday
destination since the day before.
I soon noticed that as many drivers

"I heard about Dr. Carlyle from my
mother-in-law. She was having hip
problems and he helped her a great
deal."
"I was suffering with lower back
pain to the point that when I woke up
it was a chore to even get out of bed."
"I home school
my children and
I couldn't do the
things that I
wanted to do with
them and the pain
made it difficult to
enjoy being with
them."
"I went to Dr.
Carlyle and within
a week I was moving a lot better and
feeling normal again in three weeks."
"One of the things Dr. Carlyle does
with his patients is to educate them.
I learned so much about the body
from Dr. Carlyle that I began noticing
things about my children. I noticed
that my son wasn't running properly.
After treatment by Dr. Carlyle, he is
running straight and I can tell now
when he needs an adjustment."

focusing. I learned
from Dr. Carlyle
that there are
three spots in
the body which
produce a chemical
to help a person
focus. After seeing
her and looking at
her x-rays he said
she was having
a problem with
two of those three
spots."
"She was
very resistant
to chiropractic
treatment and we
took things very
slowly. But he
worked with her
and helped her get and Alyssa Forbes,
comfortable and was able to speed up
her treatments which in turn have
helped her improve faster."
"He spends a lot of time with all of
us, explains what is going on and tells
us what to expect."
"My mom, dad, sister, and brother
and his fiancee all see Dr. Carlyle.

My grandmother, who
lives in Charleston, has
suffered from migraines
for 40 years. She had
given up on finding help
for the pain. We got
her to see Dr. Carlyle
and he has helped her
immensely. He found her
a Gonstead chiropractor
in Charleston but she still
prefers to make the trip
to St. Simons to see Dr.
Carlyle."
"My brother, his
fiancee and our niece and
nephew were in a rear
end car collision. After the
accident Dr. Carlyle took
new x-rays. The difference
between their original x-
rays and the x-rays taken
after the accident was amazing. The
damage was very evident."
"I am amazed at what Dr. Carlyle
can do and at his knowledge. He wants
everyone to be as healthy as they can
be and he works hard at helping his
patients become as healthy as they
can."
