Our hearts are filled with thanks
giving as we move into the season of
Advent. Many homes and churches
have created an Advent Wreath to
observe this special time of preparing
for the coming of Christ.
The Advent Wreath is a symbol
of God's gift of eternal life in Christ.
The circle signifies the eternal, never-
ending plan of God. The evergreen
and fragrant herbs signify the sweet,
everlasting, always greening eternal
life in Jesus our Lord. The weekly
candles represent
HOPE! The light of Prophecy.
PEACE! The light of Bethlehem.
LOVE! The light of the Shep
herds.
JOY! The light of the angels,
and finally -
CHRIST! The light of Christ'
birth.
We celebrate Christmas as the
birthday of Jesus. We give gifts to
demonstrate the great love of God as
He gave us His greatest gift. Take
time each day during this most pre
cious time of year to read the story
of His birth in the Gospel of Luke.
Feel the joy of the shepherds and the
angels as they announced His birth.
Let the peace of Bethlehem fill your
heart with hope, love and joy.

ECW holds Fall General Meeting
The women of Christ Church
recently held their Fall meeting at
the parish house. All women of the
church were invited to a sit-down lun
cheon and a program featuring The
Cooper Family, who are members of
the Society of Anglican Missionaries
and Senders (SAMS).
The Cooper's have identified Lima,
Peru as their mission assignment.
Dr. Townsend Cooper and his wife
Dawn said their goal in Lima was
to serve healthcare and spread the
gospel while meeting the needs of the
under served. Dr. Cooper, a pedia
trician, will focus on treatment of
children and health education. Dawn
hopes to focus on logistical support
and coordination of short term mis
sion teams. The
Coopers will leave
next June after their
two daughters Lucie
and Robin finish the
school year and they
expect to be gone for
three to four years.
A donation was
made by Christ
Church. The Coo
pers, like all SAMS
missionaries, must
raise their own full
support. For infor
mation contact
