Ho is selling fancy and family groceries: and ho aolicits a share of the patronage of our readers. Edwin has been here all of his life; and he will have the good will of a large circle of acquaint ances. Ho is a trust worthy and busi ness like lad. MARRIED. Mr. Jas. Newberry who spent most of his boyhood st the home es his uncle, Mr. \V. H. Miller, came down from Arlington Wednesday accompanied by his bride. He and Miss Annie Douglas, the youngest daughter of Mr. Drake Douglas were united in marriage a few days before. • The groom is a worthy’ young man sober and industrious. He lias scores of friends here in Mil ler who wish for him and his charm ing young bride a happy and pros perous voyage down the stream of life. APPOINTED. The patrons of the office will be pleased to know that she will remain in the office. LIVE FOR SOMETHING. Live for something; be not idle; Look about thee for employ; Sit not down to useless dreaming, Labor is the sweetest joy. Folded hands are ever weary, Selfish hearts are never gay; Life for thee hath many duties, Active be, then, while you may. Scatter blessing in thy pathway; Gentle words and cheering smiles Better are than gold and silver, With theirgrief-dispelling wiles. As the pleasant sunshine falleth Ever o i the grateful earth, So let sympathy and kindness Gladden well the darkened hearth. Maxwell’s Talisman. A HOME SONG, I turned an ancient poet’s book, And found upon the page: '’Stone walls do not a prison make Nor iron bars a cage.” les, that, is tme, and something more: You’ll find where’er you roam That marble floors and gilded walls Can never make home. But every house where Love abides ! And Friendship is a guest, Is surely home, and home, sweet home, For there the heart can rest, ntlenry Van Dyke, in Country Life.
