Frank Shaffer, a mechanician, who
has beet, with Rodgers since he
started on his tians-continentnl
trip. S’ affer said that Rodgers
had several • good contracts on
hand at the time he was killed.

responsible for Rodgers’ death.

The petition of William Cook, William
Pennington, J. W. Hair, G. J. Kimbrell,
W. J. Kimbrell, C. H. Cook, Harmon
Cook, Dasie Musgrove, G. W. Cook,
J. P. Cook, of said County, and G. W.
Kelly and C. C. Musgrove, of Baker
Couoty, said State, show;
1. That they desire for themselves,
their associates, successors and assigns
to become incorporated under the name
and style of the 1 ‘Cook Town Company. ‘ ‘
2. That the term for which they ask
to be incorporated is twenty years with
the privilege of renewal at the end of
that time,
3. The capital stock of said corpor
ation is to be Five Thousand ($5,000.00)
Dollars, divided into shares es One
Hundred (100.00) Dollars each. They
desire the privilege of increasing the
capital stock from time to time, hot to
1 exceed Ten Thousand ($10,000.00) Dol
' lars.
1 4. Ten per cent, es the amount of
the capital stock to be employed by
them has been actually paid in.
5. They desire the right to sue and
be sued, to plead and be impleaded, to
have and use a common seal, and to
make allnecessary by laws and regu-a
--t ons, and to do all other things that
may be necessary for the successful
carrying on of said business, including
the right to buy, hold and sell real esta
te and personal property: to build and
‘ equip gins, grist mills, saw-mills, ar to
carry on a mercantile business, or to
deal in live stock in any manner they
may deem proper, all to be dene in the
name of Cook Town Company.
' They desire the privilege of execut
ing notes and bonds as evidence es in
debtedness incurred or which may be
incurred in the conduct of the affair of
said corporation, and to secure the same
by mortgage, security deed er and oth
er form of lien that may exist under
; the laws of Georgia.
; 6. They desire to have the privilege
to apply for and accept amendments to
its Charter by vote of a majority of its
stock holders. They ask the privilege
for said corporation to wind up its af
fairs, liquidate and discontinue its busi
ness at any time it may determine to do
so by a vote of two-thirds of its stock
holders at the time.
7. The principal office and place of
business of the proposed corporation
will be in the County of Miller, said
State, and such other places as they
may deem proper in the State of Geor
gia.
8. The object of said corporation is
pecuniary gain to itself and shara hold
ers.
Wherefore, they pray to be incorpor
ated under the name of “Cook Tewn
Company”, entitled to the righto, priv
ileges and immunities and subjeet to
the liabilities fixed by law.
