To the Patrons of The Schools of Miller County:
Ihe Board of Education of your county has been most liberal l its year i Mnaking their
appropriations and in every effort that would tend, in an>> manner, to in-terr,-:Aou and your
children in procuring a good common school education and in preparing li/ie a life of
more usefulness.
We desire to beautiy the grounds and building of each sch ol d : chil
dren will have a pleasant place to go tr school to undertake a / un

take an interest in, We also are going to have new sanilery closets these kept
in a healthful condition.
I bring this to your attention for 1 want your hearty co-operation. have each
patron snterestedin their school just as toey are interested in th ir ihem to
take a pride in their school room and surroundings just as they take a having a
having a well-kept house affhome.
ilhe Board is going to give three prizes to the three best kept school and prem
ises in the county. Let’s help to make your school the best in the county.
Sometime during March we will have our annual Oratorical Contest, ' ™ each one of
your children to enter the contest to represent their school, and by* so doiagy pit will exicour
ge them to better effb.it even if they fail to get the place. Lei's be up and ’■ lug something
for education. Me are badly behind other chanties, and this condition shoo id not exist, for
we have as good people as have ever trod Mother Earth, and if we will do we now have the
chance. Help me and help the Board!
During next October, we will have a County Bair. This is instituted primarily for tho '
school children, but all of the people of your county are invited and uiged to hare some exhib- I
it at the fair. The Bhys will exhibit thoir corn, cane, cotton, potatoes, pigs, <■ aekeas. < ■.
The Girls will exhibit their cooking, canning, needle work, du mat!.. pwi : ing, drawing,
essays, etc. You patrons will exhibit your hon r sed lire stock, old fami/\ heirlooms and
