Never find fault because a news
, paper fails to give every scrap of
news so long us you take no pains
togive the editor information. The
' average editor isn’t a medium or a
mind reader, but he gets the news
1 the same way that a milkman gets
the milk —by pumping. This is
true especially of that class of items
is personals. Rightly they are
not “puffery,” but simply personal
mention for the information of lo
cal readers and those having frionde
visiting them should always let the
local editor know it, and he will
alway be glad to give it the proper
notice’. So if you have a bit of
news worth punting pul it in the
way of our pencil pusher.

Our Farmer Boys.
We are not given to boasting;
but we are proud of the farmer
boys grand old county.
They are. with rare exceptions,*
i healthy, intelligent, ami happy
class of young men.
We feel like taking our hat clear
off when we meet them tin our
streets, and no class is more wel
ooiued to our sanctum.
Too many boys leave .the farm,
where they would have made sub
«
stantial and* good citizens, and go
to the city’ where, only one in a
thousand, succeed in life’s battle.
There are farmers who fairly
drive their boys aw«y. There is
no excuse for this.
The farmer boy is entitled to his
vacations, to severalrohiXations, hie
visits to the city, good books, mag
azines ami bis home paper. * - .'
To the observing one it is plain
to be seen that the old farm isthe
best place in the world for the av

I Why Is It?
Why is it, it is often asked that
people can find no better business
than prying into other people’s
business and then exaggerating
I the truth in regards to same.
People who pretend to be Chris
tians yet who, without thoslightost
provocation, pick up some little
mistake or more often at nothing
will so scandalize one as to ruin
bis or tier reputation for life.
While they would not steal from
them worldly goods, yet they rob
him or her of what is more preci
ous tbau gold-a Good Reputation.
Why can’t people practice the
Christianity they preach and “do
unto others as ' Wotiid "have
them db unto you?”

Arid then the next day Mrs. C.

“That we extend to Mrs. J. W.
