Mr, Preston Holley fell, and in a
few minutes life was extinct
He is survived by bis wife,
formerly Miss Annis Cook, and by
two children.
His body was interred Friday
in the Belleview Cemetery, Rev
Mr. Ard conducting the funeral
services.
Mrs. Holly is almost an invalid,
and many sympathize with her
and the children in the loss they
have sustained.

Young Men
In Trouble
Tuesday two youug men, L. R.
Nix and Jesse Smith, both living
in Seminole Co., were tracked here
by an automobile truck loaded
with a bale of cotton belonging to
a Barlow.
The young men w,re arrested;
but have been removed from the
jail here to Semimole Ca.
The Nix man is not the Mr. L.
R. Nix who lives in this county
west of town and the Jesse Smith
is not either of the Jesse Smiths
known in the eastern portion of
of the county.

Tax Levy
GEORGIA—MiIIer County.
Be it resolved by the commissioners
of roads and revenues of said co. and
state, that thirty-five mills, or $35.00
oU the thousand dollars, be, and the
same is hereby assessed, levied and fix
ed as the rate of taxation for all coun
purposes, including the five mills county
wide school tax, on all taxable proper
ty in the said co. and state, for the year
1925, said county wide school tax being
assessed, levied and fixed at the afore
said rate upon the recommendation of
the Jioard of education of said co. and
state, The tax collector of said co.
and state is hereby ordered to make
out and collect for county taxes at said
rate for the year 1925.
It is further orderdd that a oopy of
this order and tax levy be advertised
at the door of the courthouse in said co,
and sate, and in the Miller County Lib
eral the official gazette of the said co.
and state, for thirty days, as is requir
ed in code section 515 of the official
code of tne state of Ga. I9IC.
It isfurlher ordered that said taxes
be apportioned and used for the follow
ing specific purposes to wit:
1. To pay the legal indebtedness of
the county due. er to become due dur
ing the year, or past due, $1.50 on the
thousand dollars.
2. To build or repair court houses,
jails, bridges or other public improve
ments, $14.25 on the thousand dollrrs.
3. To pay sheriff's, jailor’s and oth
er officers' fees that they may be le
gally entitled to out of the county, 70
cents on the thousand dollars.
4. To pay coroners all fees that may
be due them by the co. for holding in
quests, five cts. on the thousand dollars.
5. To pay the expenses of the co. for
bailiffs at court, non-resident witnesses
in criminal cases, fuel, servant hire,
stationery and the like, 60 cts on the
thousand dollars.
6. To pay jurors per diem compen
sation, 5o cts on the thousand daHnrs.
7. To pay expenses incurred in sup
porting.the poor of . the co. and as oth
erwise prescribed lathe code. $1.25 on-
8. To nay charges for educational
purposes (co. wide school tax) $5 00 on
the thousand dollars.
9. To pay any other lawful charges
against the co:
(a) City court judge's saiary 35 cts
on the thousand dollars,
(b) City court jurors. 40 cts on the
.thousand dollars.
10 To pay the bonded indebtedness
of the co. together with interest there
on, to be known as the sinking fund.
$3.00 on the thousand dollars.
11. To pay off judgements against
the co. $3.50 on the thousand dollars.
12. To work, improve and repair the
public roads, pay salary of the warden
and the wages of the guards, to be
knewn as the public road fund, $4.00
on the thousaud dollars.

Education of said co. and state, the fol
lowing local school tax is the levied
for the year 1925:

of $Bl4 principal and interest thereon,
same recorded in book 6 pages 328 to
330. office clerk superior Miller co.; and
both said security deeds and the debts
thereby secured, transferred to, and
now held by we Atlanta & Lowry Na
tional Bank, Atlanta. Ga., by a writ
ing executed by Charles Formal, and
recorded hi book 12 pages 279*280, of
fice clerk superior collrt Miller co., and
both covering the lands-hereinafter de
scribed; the lesser being subject to the
larger of said

Atlanta & Lowry National Bank, At
lanta, Ga., the legal holder of said deeds
to secure debt and the debts thereby
secured, as transferee of Charles For
man, at public vendue, before the court
house door of Miller co. at Colquitt, Ga.,
on the 2 Tuesday, the 13 day of Oct.
1925, betwyen the legal hours of sale,
will sell to the highest bidder for cash,
the lands described in aforesaid deeds
to secure debt, to wit:
Lots nos. three hundred and thirty
three (333). three hundred anil forty
nine (349), three hundred and seventy
three (373) and three hundred eighty
eight (388), all in the 13 dist. of Miller
co. Ga , and each containing two hun
dred and fifty (250),acres, more or less.
The proceeds of sale will be applied
first to payment of the expenses of sale
including attorneys’ fees as stipulated
for in said deeds to secure debt, next to
the payment of the principal of SB,OOO
and the interest thereon, owing to date
of sale, thirdly, to payment of the ba -
ance due on said principal of $Bl4, and
interest thereon, owing to date ot sale,
and the balance, if any, to the person
or persons legally entitled thereto.
The undersigned transferee will exe
cute in the name of T. J. Shingler, a
deed in fee simple to the purchaser at
said sale, pursuant to the power con
tained in aforesaid deeds to secure debt,
this Sept. 9, 1925.

All that certain lot, plot or tract of
land and premises, situated, lying and
being in the 26 dist. of said co, of Mil
ler and state of tla. and more particu
larly described as follows: 60 Acres of
land off of land lot no. 105, said 60
acres bring in the northeast corner of
said lot, and bounded on the north andl
east by the original lines of said lot, [
and on the south and west by the fires
dividing said 60 acres from the bal
ance of said lot, running 700 yards down
the northwest line, and then 400 yards
down the southeast line; being the
same lands and premises as were con
’ veyed by deed from Mrs. Leona Shef
field to H. J. Worlds, dated Oct. 21,
1915, and recorded Oct. 21, 1915, in
book 5 page 448, Miller co. records.
Said deed being to secure payment
of note of even date from grantor to
order of grantee for $600.00, with in
terest at the rate of 8 per cent per
annum, due Nov. 1, 1927; and payment
of same being in default; amount due
i to date of sale being $500.00
and $80.20 intsrest.
Proceeds of sale will be applied to
payment of indebtedness and the ex
penses of sale, and balance to L. W,

30, 19-2, which appears of record in the
office of the clerk of Miller superior
court in deed book I-A, page 414.
Default having been made in the pay
ment of the indebtedness secured by
said deed, the property above described
will be sold to satisfy same, and war
ranty titles will be executed to the pur
chase! as provided in said deed.
It is understood that said property
will be sold subject to the lien of a pri
or loan deed, executed by Lou Cindia
Bryan to the Chickamaugq/Trust Co. to
secure a loan of $6,000.00, and also
subject to the lien of a sheriff’s tax deed
for $188.37, dated April 9. 1925.
The proceeds of the sale of said prop
erty will be appled first to the payment
of the indebtedness secured by said deed
-nd to the cost of this advertisement;
the remainder, if any, will be paid to
said Lou Cindia Bryan or her assigns.
