HERE AND THERE
In perusing the column* of the
"Agonistic,” weekly publication of
Ague* Scott Collage,. wa observe an
article about the recently organised
Are department amohg the students,
with a chief, lieutenants and every
thing—including a bucket brigade.
This is one of the Indications of
woman's rapid progress end it migh
be well if some of the men’s colleges
would take a tip from those girls and
organise against the ravages of Are.
The “Missiaaippian” tells us that
the University of Mississippi has tha
largest enrollment in its history, with
an increase of about 160 students
over last year. New dormitories end
class room* have been built in order
to take care of the oveiAow. Senti
ment all over the South seems to be
educationally inclined and in prepar
ing to meet the demand Mississippi
is carrying out the policies of many
other Southern colleges.
The “Blue Stocking,” bi-weekly or
gan of the Presbyterian College in
South Carolina, is a well edited paper
and we hope that its staff will be suc
cessful in their endeavors to make a
weekly of the publication.
We have a copy of the “Simmons
Brand,” which represents Simmons
boys, L. E. and S. T. (Captain of the'College away out in. Abilene, Texas.

was played in Msdiaon, The Fresh
men came through with a twenty-five
point margin. The Aggies held the
“Rats" in check during the first half
of the battle, but the third quarter
pselled defeat for the Rentsmen.
“Geeche” Chapman, sent in as a
substitute halfback, ran with the ball
for three succesaive times and gained
oyer thirty-Ave yards. This boy went
through the A. A M. line time after
time and was th'e chief factor in mak-
4gg the Anal score as big as it was.
Chapman also contributed one of the
touchdowns made by the Freshmen.

of these men were especially Ane on
the defensive, throwing the runners
for losses a number of times.
’ “Able” Smith, “Consuello’s” broth

although he was unable to do his best
playing on account of a bum ankle.
The backAeld developed by “Slap”
Rents was rather light and very little
ground was gained through the
Freshman line.

Time was short and the game ended
