full term of the State Court of Ap
peals in the recent primary, when he
carried every county in the qtate, ex
cept two, and the final count.in one,
of these was doubtful.
The race was between Judge Bell
nnd Judge Harper Hamilton of Rome,
and the victory is said to be the most
candidate ever en-

The' Phi Delta Society has thor
oughly caught the aggressive spirit
of Mercer and is lining up the new
men in the .traditional work of the
society. The day of making orators
has not passed. Prospects, are that
